forsalebypwner··on WallHop – 12ft.io is gone, so I built a replacement
Can you send me a link once it's up? Or otherwise link to your GitHub profile so people can follow you.
forsalebypwner··on Talorys – A self-hosted personal AI agent on Cloudflare's free tier
yeah their billing system truly sucks. One month I was charged exorbitantly for Workers Container usage. There was absolutely zero way to monitor or track your usage until the invoice arrived.
forsalebypwner··on Ask HN: What do you run on a $5 VPS that's worth keeping online 24/7?
What's your strategy for juggling all of these on only 16GB? Docker?
forsalebypwner··on Ask HN: What do you run on a $5 VPS that's worth keeping online 24/7?
>I use a $5 VPS + $3 for 0.5gb of block storage to host shitty video game clips I want to share with my friend

What's the benefit of this over an unlisted YouTube video? I suppose there are many valid philosophical reasons to not want to use it.

forsalebypwner··on Ask HN: What do you run on a $5 VPS that's worth keeping online 24/7?
Yeah i just tried self-hosting GitLab again and was surprised that I was getting OOM errors when I provisioned it with an 6GB memory limit. Turns out 8GB is like, the bare minimum. Crazy
forsalebypwner··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
> Deepseek 4 Pro

There's your problem, 4.1 Flash is significantly better and cheaper, to the point where the official DeepSeek API is going to (or already has, I forget) redirect requests for Pro to 4.1 Flash, and adjust billing accordingly too.

4 Pro is still offered by providers I'm sure, since it's open weight, so I can understand making that mistake.

forsalebypwner··on Its not just the f*cking sandbox
man that was so many words while saying so little. tl;dr "my job is hard and people are mean on the internet "

forsalebypwner··on The Amazon Tax
They don't "always believe this", this will lead to your account being banned eventually, or at least barred from returning products.
forsalebypwner··on Ordinary WiFi can now identify you with near-perfect accuracy
Yes actually, but I don't think it's technically allowed/legal in the US in the eyes of the FCC, not sure about other countries. It utilizes 77GHz FMCW, I got one for free but they retail for about $100. The part number is R77ABH1

Edit: sorry, you said "using this technology" and I missed that - this doesn't uses the same tech

forsalebypwner··on Ordinary WiFi can now identify you with near-perfect accuracy

forsalebypwner··on Show HN: iPhone app takes simultaneous images from 2 lenses, fuses into 1 photo
That's super handy, thanks! I've been using one of those selfie monitoring screens and opening the camera to record video + turning on the flash, this app seems like a better way of accomplishing this
forsalebypwner··on Show HN: Needle2: 14MB agentic LLM for phones, wearables, smart home and robots
Any instructions available for running this on an ESP32-S3 or P4 like the site says?
forsalebypwner··on Show HN: Needle2: 14MB agentic LLM for phones, wearables, smart home and robots
They mention that this specific model is able to run on an ESP32-S3, or an ESP32-P4 which has 32MB of PSRAM. I'm trying to figure out how to do this now.
forsalebypwner··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (August 2026)
That demo is very impressive, nice work
forsalebypwner··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (August 2026)
Sweet, been looking for a better browser-based inpainting tool, will check it out.
forsalebypwner··on DeepSeek planning to significantly raise prices
Not necessarily, but could happen if the new Pro version is released and costs more to run
forsalebypwner··on Birduino: A card-triggered audio player for [learning] the birds
I like this idea, I might play around with it. I'll let you know if I make progress on it.
forsalebypwner··on Software for One
AltStore, Sideloadly, SideStore all have mechanisms for automating the weekly redeploys, to name a few.
forsalebypwner··on Advancing the price-performance frontier with GPT‑5.6
I'm not aware of a DeepSeek plan, but I am using the DeepSeek API directly if that's what you mean.
forsalebypwner··on Advancing the price-performance frontier with GPT‑5.6
Yup, last month I did ~150mil tokens on DeepSeek v4 Pro for just under $3
forsalebypwner··on 3D Pinball for Windows (1995)
This guide is impressively thorough and can help answer this: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/563047-3d-pinball-space-cad...
forsalebypwner··on The coolest use for the Vision Pro
Okay I have to ask - do the joysticks move you forward like they typically would for a character in a video game? Or do you use teleport controls? Because the former would absolutely make me (and I think most people?) motion sick
forsalebypwner··on Forth
Is that loss?
forsalebypwner··on Google Chrome Arrives on ARM64 Linux, Widevine DRM Included
which is especially silly because every half-competent scraper knows this, and will just lie - it's so easy. but I have seen this happen as well, trying to legitimately use Chrome on Linux
forsalebypwner··on A 77-year-old Republican man is staging a solo protest against Flock cameras
I was gonna try to pull up the data to prove you wrong, but then the data disagreed with me, what the heck! what do I do now! ad hominem, I guess: uhhh your penis looks dry!
forsalebypwner··on Show HN: Physically accurate black hole you can put in your room
on iPhone 12 Pro Max and later (maybe only on Pros, I forget) they have a LiDAR sensor built in, allowing for impressively accurate 3D scans of objects with a free app like Scaniverse. But yeah I think AR was the intention there
forsalebypwner··on A 77-year-old Republican man is staging a solo protest against Flock cameras
Right, and also, a 77-year-old man in Florida means that adding "Republican" is just redundant.
forsalebypwner··on Passkeys were invented by engineers with zero understanding of consumer brain
An important skill to develop is determining whether somebody is bullshitting you. Because it would be impossible for any one human to perfectly understand all of these concepts, right? So when I read this person's blog post, I felt I could trust him, based on what I know about work he's done previously. I'm not saying you should trust me on this, or even blindly trust him, but look at his body of work, and the sources he cites, and make the call for yourself: https://words.filippo.io/crqc-timeline/
forsalebypwner··on Passkeys were invented by engineers with zero understanding of consumer brain
the fact that some nebulous "group of companies" still uses typewriters does not mean that all modern cryptography is flawed
