Can I store RAW photo files on this storage?
forgotprevpass··on Ask HN: Idea Sunday
Sounds like squidoo, but I don't think anyone uses them anymore.

Does Sprig or Spoonrocket or the other alternatives not deliver healthy food? I believe they have a vegetarian option.

Isn't this what beeminder.com does?

Someone is working on that! (I have no relationship with this company) http://www.mealsquares.com/
forgotprevpass··on Is There Anything Beyond Quantum Computing?
If you're not familiar, Scott is a professor of MIT, specializing in quantum computing. Many readers of his blog are also well known in this sphere, so they would have more technical insight, more in depth than the pbs layman's version.
forgotprevpass··on Two Big Steps Toward the Quantum Computer
Technically, you can run Shor's algorithm on non quantum computers, with an exponential speed up (but fully within capabilities of modern computing vs. small quantities of qubits)

What kind of content do you use for Anki?
forgotprevpass··on Alan Kay at Demo: The Future Doesn't Have to Be Incremental
At 15:00, he mentions research on the efficiency of gestures done in the 60's. Does anyone know what he's referring to?
forgotprevpass··on Ask YC: Are the intern application results out?
I don't think school is too important. My friend and I are from the same school, I got to the next round, he didn't. (He's going to go work for Google anyway, so it doesn't matter). That being said, it probably does play _some_ factor.
forgotprevpass··on Ask YC: Are the intern application results out?
I just got this email:

Hi! Thank you for applying to intern at a YC company. We wanted to let you know that your application has made it to the next round.

We sent your application to one or more YC companies we thought would be a good fit for you, and who are looking for someone with your skill set.

If the company would like to interview you, you will hear back from them within a week. Otherwise, you'll be hearing again from me.

Thanks again for applying!

On a related note, can someone suggest a good textbook optimal stopping?
forgotprevpass··on Dear Recruiters
It's (presumably) a joke. See: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=trolling+is+a...
forgotprevpass··on Object-Relational Mapping is the Vietnam of Computer Science (2006)
I played around with sqlalchemy a bit this week, it seems you still have to dive down to the bare relational manual mapping (by creating a table by hand) to do something simple, like many-to-many mappings. Is there a better way to do it?
forgotprevpass··on Show HN: Siri-as-a-Service Speech API
This is the first startup in the last 6 months that has me genuinely excited. Congrats!

I know this is considered bad mannered, but what's the NLP behind the scenes look like? I'm curious. :)

forgotprevpass··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (February 2014)
Note to people applying: I wouldn't hold your breath for a response. in 2013, Academia.edu came to my school and agreed to an on campus interview, and never actually contacted me for the time of the interview (cancelled my classes all day too :/). I also emailed Ben, who posted at a previous "Who is Hiring" thread with no response.
forgotprevpass··on Mother
Does anyone know how the signals are being sent from the cookie to Mother? The company mentioned in a CES video that they werent using the traditional bluetooth, wifi, etc.
