Seems like motivation porn more than education. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just knowing which one is which is useful.

Comment section has some more information on why the course was made.

Benefits of Playwright over Puppeteer - official support for languages outside of JavaScript, and official codegen/record support. Great!

Why not ReCAPTCHA?

I've worked at one of the companies you've listed, definitely had to do anti-trust training.

Facebook's

Microsoft's

> The supercomputer developed for OpenAI is a single system with more than 285,000 CPU cores, 10,000 GPUs and 400 gigabits per second of network connectivity for each GPU server

What's a full rack size? 42U?

Also agreed with sibling comment that 1Gbps is pretty slow nowadays. Do you know if that can be customized?

Example 1: GPT-3 is a decent chatbot. Training a similar model so you can have a conversation with AIs in the "metaverse" (god, that word is terrible) could be fun / useful.

Example 2: Using AI upscaling (like Nvidia) to improve visual fidelity in games.

Example 3: Hand/body tracking for avatars.

The more AI compute, the more experimentation researchers can do.

Why not just rent AWS/Azure/GCP instead? They're all about the same. Top of the line enterprise GPUs with fast interconnect.

Isn't it a funny coincidence that Firefox offers a Facebook container, but not a Google one, despite both companies having the same amount of tracking across the web? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/facebook-container-prev...

How does it compare to a diffraction grating that costs $2? Quickly Googling this I found: https://www.homesciencetools.com/product/diffraction-grating...

One of the reviews on that page mention implementing a spectrometer:

> The 1,000 lines/mm Diffraction Grating Plastic Film was used to make a high resolution optical spectrometer. First, the film was removed from its paper 2" x 2" card stock. The crystal clear film was next glued to an optical ring that was mounted in front of a very inexpensive 1,920 x 1,080 pixel webcam. The modified webcam was placed in the back oRead more about review stating Using the 1,000 line/mm Diffraction Grating in a Spectrometerf a pinhole camera-box and mounted at an incident-angle to the incoming light beam. In this configuration different light sources could be introduced to the new spectrometer and their light spectrum captured using a USB-computer input. Thus, a wide variety of light sources could be fully analyzed at a resolution of about +/- 2nm. Using this very inexpensive (1,000 lines/mm) grating, coupled with an equally inexpensive webcam, a high resolution optical spectrometer could be built for under $25.00

$70 seems expensive for a diffraction grating, what am I missing?

You could gain computational biology experience from working at biotech until you have enough to work at one of these longevity startups.

No surprise, there's already a subreddit dedicated to people trying out this experimental molecule: https://reddit.com/r/isrib

> Why do we need studies for things we've known for centuries?

Because folk wisdom is not science. For example, many people enjoy a cozy fireplace, but increases chances of heart/lung disease a significant amount due to small (PM10) particles: https://www.epa.gov/pm-pollution/how-smoke-fires-can-affect-... https://www.lung.org/clean-air/at-home/indoor-air-pollutants...

Curious why you would compare a first-gen VR headset that came out more than 5 years ago to one released last year. Also, no one's typing using wands, they're all using standard keyboards.

Does anyone enjoy horseshoe crab? I've had it once, and there's very little edible meat. Seems more of a novelty than sustenance. (I may have been eating it incorrectly.)

I've noticed this in a different context as well. Searching for "Free X" where X is some niche software, a website will list themselves as #1, even though their product is paid, albeit with a 30 days free trial. It's the new generation of SEO hacking.

Is this original creepypasta? Google search doesn't return anything.

I believe most modern smartphones have more powerful cameras than ArduCam. They're more expensive, but broken / older smartphones can be had for cheap.

Got it. Thanks for doing this!

This is great! This is what I wanted to see early on in the pandemic. Just curious, why test now? This would've been (more) useful a year or two ago.

Davis is primarily a college town. Is there enough demand to fill up a skyscraper?

Why are people using euphemisms here? The sexual reference: WAP stands for "wet ass pussy", popularized by Cardi B: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsm4poTWjMs. The music video has over 400M views.

If anyone wants to know how it works:

So cross-platform compatibility isn't guaranteed, unlike Electron.

So where's the evidence? It's easy to spew conspiracy theories about anything. Intel could've started the fire in ASML's plant to slow down TSMC. I could've shorted ASML's stock and started the fire to profit from the other side of the world.

This is called end-to-end speech translation, and has been around since 2017. Here's an article from 2019: https://www.technologyreview.com/2019/05/20/103054/google-ai...

The term "wet market" just means a market that sells non-dry goods, like meat or vegetables. Most farmers markets are wet markets. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whbyuy2nHBg for an example.

Perhaps you mean campaigning against eating exotic animals?

The website blocks Cloudflare DNS, not the other way around.
