forgot-im-old··on Two never-before-seen tools, from same group, infect air-gapped devices
PocketAdmin is capable of all that's described here and it's open source! https://github.com/krakrukra/PocketAdmin
forgot-im-old··on Turkish language has a gossip tense
In "bad moods", "Halim yok" is more often used as "I'm worn-out".

In "good moods", is more often used as "I'm on game, winning" or "I'm on fire" Others are about good mood in different tenses etc.

It used to be you could put a file called autoplay on a USB drive and it would get executed on insertion.

That's typical smoke screening when your'e working with the CIA as the link implies

Don't have to wait 10 years if you read the WikiLeaks above.

They mosaics look quite busy by today's standards. Guess they had less else to look at.

This basically explains all of Elon's seemingly contradictory behaviors.
forgot-im-old··on Tesla Robotaxi
You really don't know what you're talking about. That "visiting 4 Star General" now reports full time to Elon, as the WSJ determined via numerous sources.

A 1.3 gigapixel image of the moon that has a nice zoom interface is at https://www.easyzoom.com/imageaccess/40d920f226e9451cba72a74...

Not quite as high resolution however.

The statements are hyperlinked to sources in the comments. You can read those. What in particular are you disputing?
forgot-im-old··on Research in psychology: are we learning anything?
Many people are pointing to the replication crisis as indicating that Psychology is not a science. However, Medicine is also facing a replication crisis to the same degree. Would people also suggest that Medicine is not a science?

I think it comes down to the fact that both disciplines work with people and behaviour, and people are not homogeneous nor are behaviours easily predicted. For that reason, I think that a distinction can be made between “hard sciences” and “soft sciences” - we just can’t get the same level of precision that the hard sciences can, but that doesn’t mean that Psychology isn’t scientific. We still apply the scientific method to discover phenomena and develop testable theories, just like other sciences. And meta-analyses allow for much greater certainty in findings..

forgot-im-old··on Starlink's Hurricane relief offer is not quite as free as advertised
There's a lot of misleading going on, Elon trying to placate Russia until the Trump card is ready to be played, which must be launched very quickly all at once.
forgot-im-old··on When Earth had rings
May see rings around Earth again.. it's the expected state that space debris settles into after Kessler Syndrome.

Pretty clear that Elon & Mike Griffin aligned toward Brilliant Pebbles from the beginning (and probably Zubrin too)

It's already approved by ITU, just was not by FCC. In fact this Ku band is already used in downlink by Starlink as described in comment https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41662676#41664592

Great article thanks, not sure why you're downvoted. HN can be overprotective of Elon.

That's a reasonable calculation I suppose. The 0.0005% increase is in carbon emissions per year by the U.S. -- that same 0.0005% increase in publications would be about 15.
forgot-im-old··on SpaceX update regarding Starship FAA flight approval
As another said,

It's completely different from the Steele Dossier. Project 2025 was written by dozens of former Trump administration officials and surrogates, by an organization he has previously outsourced policy to, and largely aligns with what he and his top advisors have said they want to do. He even praised the project before it became well known. But now the name has become toxic so he's trying to distance himself from it, but he hasn't disavowed much of the content.

forgot-im-old··on SpaceX update regarding Starship FAA flight approval
SpaceX was founded in 2002 with help of a CIA agent named Mike Griffin ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_D._Griffin#Career ) who funneled them funding (lots of citations at end of https://archive.ph/D2zIG ). Griffin worked for In-Q-Tel and also was the Deputy of Technology for the Strategic Defense Initiative, later started the Space Development Agency (SDA) which is to become Trump's SDI in 2025.

The author should look into https://www.castelion.com/ a company started by SpaceX employees and with deep connections to Elon's Starlink and Strategic Defense Initiative.

They have some interesting images.
