fnsa··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (March 2025)
A GNSS receiver written in Rust. It takes as input IQ data from an rtl-sdr device (or equivalent). It decodes the GPS L1 C/A signal, but I hope to augment it so that it handles Galileo and the other constellations.

It's still a work in progres: https://github.com/mx4/gnss-rcv/

fnsa··on Fat-fueled brain: unnatural or advantageous?
I did a keto diet for a few months 3 years back and one of the things that I noticed very quickly was the reduced need for sleep. I slept at least an hour less every night and I felt great. Apparently it's due to a reduced production of melatonin.

fnsa··on Ask HN: What's your favorite online course?
I have done a lot of progress in German using Duolingo. Memrise helps with vocabulary too.
fnsa··on Ask HN: What (side) projects are you working on?
A lightweight (SPV) bitcoin client. mac/linux/bsd.

fnsa··on Hijacking user sessions with the Heartbleed vulnerability
yup it seems to have been patched soon after I posted, however quite a few from here are still vulnerable:

This is scary:

fnsa··on Did Malaysian Airlines 370 disappear using SIA68/SQ68 (another 777)?
A theory is that the cargo area of the plane contained valuable goods: gold, silver, diamonds, etc and that's what the hijackers were after.

From this: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-15/missing-malaysian-f...

the 777 can have up to 25 tons worth of cargo payload.

25 tons of gold is worth ~ $1B, that's quite a bit more than the value of the plane itself.

fnsa··on Popcorn-app
The app is terrific. Can't wait for a revision that includes all the popular tv shows.
fnsa··on TrackR
But it's supposedly also very easy to detect whether you're being tracked or not, right? GSM+GPS seems a lot more stealthy.

shameless plug: my ncurses thin SPV bitcoin client for linux/mac:

https://github.com/bit-c/bitc

  * 100% C code,
  * support for linux and mac platforms,
  * console based: uses ncurses,
  * home grown async network i/o stack,
  * home grown poll loop,
  * home grown bitcoin engine,
  * supports encrypted wallet,
  * supports Tor/Socks5 proxy,
  * multi-threaded,
  * valgrind clean.
You'll need basic dev skills to install it: check-out the code, install dependencies then build. It's all in the README file. I'm interested in all kinds of feedback you may have: feature requests, bugs, etc. Thanks!

fnsa··on Termcoin – A Bitcoin wallet for your terminal
Interesting, I've also developed a bitcoin client :) However, mine is completely independent of bitcoin-qt and is meant to be lightweight and snappy. It uses SPV. Here's a screenshot:
