It's my primary tool for querying against databases, because like you, I really prefer writing LINQ queries to SQL. It won't let you do most DB admin tasks, but that's what SSMS is for.
Sure looks like it would work better than them just texting me what they'd like added to the server, heh.

In a position where I built the system/product from scratch, I'm the "10x" person. This is because I know the system's ins and outs better than I know myself. Of course I'm more productive with it. Of course I know exactly where to look when a bug arises. Of course I'm 10x better (across whatever arbitrary productivity dimension) than the new hire. It's not because I'm magical, it's because I was there when there was nothing.
Drop me into a new stack, with a new system, and I'll be -1x for at least a few months. Eventually I'll work my way to productivity, and that's fine. It's expected.
I think developer productivity has a lot less to do with technical skill than many people would like to think. I agree heavily with the article's points that "work environment matters a lot" and "productivity is a combination of inherent traits and acquired skills."
I do, however, notice that it does tailor the content to you in a way it didn’t before. The “hot” queue used to be the same for everyone viewing the same page. I like to read AskReddit posts, and on my front page I get many AskReddit posts that have very very little activity.
It turns out the airport hadn’t assigned a crew to unload the plane, and Lufthansa sent an entire plane’s worth of checked luggage to Reykjavik. Cue the whole plane having to be processed through lost luggage. That’s was a long day.
This is really insightful, to me. Worth keeping in mind in today’s world.

In short, it's costing Canada billions of dollars and has affected countless people's livelihoods.
It's also more effort to develop a dark theme, in my experience. Most frameworks and project templates just start you off with a light theme.
It works well, does everything I ask of it, and it’s just totally free of bloat. Hasn’t changed in years in fact. Just does what it says on the tin. Renames your files in bulk.
Some misguided white men might think that they are "the most oppressed group", but they are just that: misguided.
If the email could be appended with the words "you idiot" without changing the overall tone, then I need to rephrase.
Fastmail is a great service that I'm very happy with so far, but you will have to set up your own "bundling" if you want that feature. I have found the Fastmail rules configurator to be easy enough to use and set up. For example, anything from '*@amazon.com' goes into "Purchases", anything from 'mom@email.com' goes into "Family", various mailing lists go into "Newsletters", etc. All the other stuff gets archived. The rules configurator is much more comprehensive than this, but I haven't found a need to filter by much more than domain name yet.
Their stance on privacy is great, their phone app is slick, their calendars and file storage get the job done and are at least as good as their Google counterparts. It's very easy to set up forwarding and replies from your gmail address as well. I am happy to pay for their service and plan to keep using it for the foreseeable future.
We use Teams on our team, and my current PTT technique is to Ctrl+Shift+M to unmute and mute every time. Très annoying.
