I agree, it's hard to choose from so many awesome domains.

faehnrich··on A primer on some C obfuscation tricks
That index[x] was used in one of my favorite IOCCC one-liners.

faehnrich··on Ask HN: What's an unsolved problem in your field?
printers
faehnrich··on Tell HN: C Experts Panel – Ask us anything about C
I like how Cthulhu is shown as kind of a guide for the robot.

The C==Sea brings to mind the book Expert C Programming: Deep C Secrets.

faehnrich··on Tell HN: C Experts Panel – Ask us anything about C
I've been waiting for a book on C from No Starch Press, so I'm really excited for this one.

This might not be too deep a question on the C language in regards to this book, but I've been wondering, why did you decide to have an eldritch horror as the book's cover?

faehnrich··on The Birth of Standard Error (2013)
I once saw a video of someone describing this, can't for the life of me find it again.

Was expecting this to be Mario Teaches HTML.
faehnrich··on C++ is not a superset of C
Reminds me of a blog post of mine[1].

Funny that I say C is not a subset, while this says C++ not a superset.

But mine doesn't go too deep, don't reference any standards.

I love things that explore dark corners of languages like this, look forward to digging deeper.

Also, I like the web design, kinda cyberpunk.

faehnrich··on Ask HN: Where do you store bookmarks?
Someone else just suggested this too, thank you. I try to just go with official plugins, don't want to invest time looking into some random person's plugin. But this one looks legit, and recommended.
faehnrich··on Ask HN: Where do you store bookmarks?
Thank you. I try to go with official plugins, because who knows about all those similar named plugins made by random people. But this one looks legit.
faehnrich··on Ask HN: Where do you store bookmarks?
Used to just use a plain text file, but that's become untenable.

Going to really start using pinboard.in

Have been bookmarking in Firefox, which is great for syncing between devices. But I got so many even that's seeming slow and hard to search through (but to be fair maybe I'll have the same problems with pinboard once I get to that many.)

faehnrich··on Ask HN: Where do you store bookmarks?
How do you integrate with Firefox? Their plugin says it doesn't work with Firefox Quantum. (Or is that one not worth mentioning? ;)
faehnrich··on Ask HN: Where do you store bookmarks?
Had an account for a while, just now really starting using it. How do you use it with Android and Firefox? The official plugin says it doesn't work with Firefox Quantum.
faehnrich··on Main(){printf(&unix[“\021%six\012\0”], (unix)[“have”]+“fun”-0x60);}
No, I have not read that yet. Thanks! Appropriate read for Dennis Ritchie Day https://www.oreilly.com/ideas/dennis-ritchie-day
faehnrich··on The Clockwise/Spiral Rule of C declarations
Or, as the book Expert C Programming says, declarations in C are read boustrophedonically.
faehnrich··on Ask HN: Why is there a black bar added on top?
Oh, I saw the black bar and wondered, didn't make the connection it was for someone that died.
faehnrich··on Should I Use Signed or Unsigned Ints? (Part 2)
The book "Expert C Programming" also says stick with signed, use unsigned for bitfields or binary masks. This post says unsigned for bitwise or modulo, so basically unsigned when expecting the value to be bits in a machine instead of a number.
faehnrich··on Posture for a Healthy Back
That is an incorrect lifting position because that guy's huge chin makes him top-heavy, he'll just fall over the box.
faehnrich··on Posture for a Healthy Back
One place I worked, they installed a program that reminded people every few minutes to take breaks and have good posture.

The longer you worked, it showed a different color for how fatigued you were. Taking regular breaks kept you at green, constantly typing made it go toward red.

I found that the program displayed the colors by just displaying different picture files of just that color. I changed those files to pictures of your character from Doom as he takes more damage. The longer I typed without a break, the bloodier the guys face got.

Oh, as for your question, no it didn't work. I just saw it as a distraction so removed the program (which I wasn't supposed to be able to do.)

faehnrich··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (August 2015)
Always great to hear about another Cleveland-area company!
faehnrich··on Man Says He Can Make 20-Year-Old Rum in 6 Days
Cleveland Whiskey says they do something like use pressure to force it through the wood I think, where this says he, "forces the creation of the same key chemical compounds."

If those in the end mean the same thing, I don't know.

Friends snobbier than me say it's ok but not at the price it was originally going at, but I liked it.

faehnrich··on Ask HN: The “I want to do everything but end up doing nothing” dilemma
Do only one thing. When done with that, move onto some else.

The first thing on your list is the one to do.

faehnrich··on Ask HN: I got let go this morning. What should I do next?
Hello fellow Clevelander! Sorry you were let go.

I hope you stay in Cleveland. I collected links of tech companies and job resources in the Cleveland area.
