elvis70··on RTM-Z80: Retro Tiny Multitasking System for Z80 Based Computers
The initial announcement: https://groups.google.com/g/rc2014-z80/c/is43UD_1vFA

> My name is Ladislau Szilagyi, I'm 67 and I'm a big fan of Z80 retro computers.

> I just published on GitHub ( https://github.com/Laci1953/RTM-Z80 ) my RTM/Z80 project.

> RTM/Z80 is a multitasking kernel, built for Z80 based computers, written in Z80 assembly language, providing its users with an Application Programming Interface (API) accessible from programs written in the C language and the Z80 assembly language.

From the repo:

The user manual: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Laci1953/RTM-Z80/main/RTM-...

> The RTM/Z80 project is intended to offer to the retro-computer hobbyists and to anyone willing to learn about multitasking systems the necessary resources needed to understand and learn the basics of this interesting but difficult area of software engineering.

elvis70··on The Simtel CD Collection (1994-2001)
Nostalgia. I still have a "Shareware Bonanza" compilation CD from Tons & Gigs from 1992 with 20,000+ programs on 3 CDs, about 1.5GB of compressed files (more than 3GB uncompressed after them), which was huge. I had a 32MB hard drive back then (before I bought a new PC with a 120MB hard drive the following year).

48K minus the 6K VRAM and system variables! It's actually more like 41K.

The 8080. If I remember well, there was no instruction to adjust after BCD substraction (as with the Z80) So you had to do 9's complement the second operand and do an addition.

Same but in TP7 by following a tutorial found on a CD shipped with a magazine. Very satisfied with the result but never managed to get the version with textures right.

That made me curious. From section 2.2 of the 2nd edition of K&R, 'long' is not a type but a qualifier that applies to integers (not floats though), so you can declare a 'long int' type if you prefer.

elvis70··on The ZX81 Turns 40
First computer of the family, received as a kit. My mother, my father and I took turns copying listings from books and magazines. I remember we were very enthusiastic and fascinated by this machine. The first words I achieved to type on it were swear words.

My phalanges still remember it!

Having said that, I had an instinct of repulsion at the sight of the RAM pack on the photo.

I am relearning TP and DOS as a hobby. I would be interested if you decided to share you code.

I lost all of my TP programs from '92-'02 as the result of a dramatic neglicence.
