I usually do Reddit/HN binges where Ill open up 30+ tabs that are of interest and make my way through the list but if I don't get to them in under 10 minutes, the tabs automatically close and I'll forget them while still getting the dopamine hit of clicking on all the novel headlines :)
1) Flood in Rwanda kills 109 people 2) Sudan War 3) Australia evacuation from Sudan 4) Seizing of an oil tanker
None of these headlines keep me particularly informed and are actually a more potent version of the 24 hours new cycle
For example, the paper "ColabFold: making protein folding accessible to all" is listed as having 1162 citations. I'm seeing that it was cited only by 899 publications on Scite: https://scite.ai/reports/colabfold-making-protein-folding-ac...
I'm wondering if Google Scholar is overestimating or Scite is underestimating.
Very curious to see how stringent they are going to be in enforcing this. This is going to disrupt a lot of multi-generational families who share an account but don't all live under the same roof.
I know YC is not a governmental agency and their main goal is profit, but given all that's going on in the world, would've loved to see a substantially higher number here.
