Basically because they manipulated me.

The guy was previously hired as a contractor.

Then, another senior SW engineer left the company and we opened a new position to replace him.

The VP told me that his friend was going to be signed, because there were issues having him as a contractor. (Actually he is quite old and should be retired). But he never mentioned that he was taking the senior SW engineer position.

One day, just by chance, I discovered that the senior position had been cancelled, talking with HR people. And, as you could imagine, I got really angry!

Obviously every alternative has its own (dis) advantages.

If you want other's money you need to convince them. That means a lot of extra work writing plans, and when you receive the money you are inmediately diluted.

For that reason I always pursue ideas I can start developing on my own... And it is then when I find my main weak point: I don't have enough time...

When I realised I would be "poor" all my life working for others, and reckoned I should try to pursue my business ideas.... It turned up I already have two kids and my daily costs are too high to leave my current job.

Qucs-S stands for Qucs-Spice. That is different to QucsStudio.

(1) In theory, QucsStudio kernel simulator might be different to Qucs' one (qucsator). In my experience transient simulations usually converge without problems. The main issues I get take place in harmonic balance simulators.

(2) QucsStudio does not have native installer for Linux. So you depend on wine.

I studied telecoms engineering and after graduating focused mainly in HW design and signal processing. I used to dislike options like web development that used to employ many people.

Years later I thought of creating my website as a hobby. Now I use wordpress, so I am perfectly aware I am not doing anything complicated. It is something simple you can just do reading internet sources. But the tasks of designing the website, and writing technical stuff in the blog, makes me feel good. It helps you a lot to organise your mind and your ideas to transmit concepts.

Yes. I intend to write one more article on single side band, and another one on the analytic signal. Including there the details you mention.

But for this one I just wanted to focus on Hilbert Transform and a little bit on the applications. Otherwise it would have been a bit "hard" for many readers.
