"Open source" means something specific to a lot of people. You may have issues with how OSI operates (I do too!) but let's not muddy things further.

BTW, did someone already code an automated meme generator using LLMs? Only half-joking.
Small digression: Turkish series have been doing an extreme version of "telling" for ages. I've been watching the cheesiest ones with my wife as she uses them to unwind (I do the same with YouTube videos). In these shows, characters don't just say what they're doing, they also explain how they feel, what they plan to do, and how they'll feel afterward. It's oddly addictive, like watching a bad movie on purpose, and somehow, you end up completely hooked.
I was born in Istanbul, a sprawling, chaotic city that's a fascinating blend of thousands of cultures. Christmas was always a thing there, even under an Islamist regime. As a non-believer, I never cared much for religious holidays, but I did enjoy the cozy decorations and sipping Glühwein (mulled wine). Beyond that, it didn't mean much to me.
Now I live in Germany. My first Christmas here, back in 2009, was quite different. I was alone in a rented room provided by my employer, watching TV shows I couldn't understand on a tiny screen, just trying to pass the time. My laptop wasn't working (the charging cable was broken), and I was bored out of my mind.
Around 6 PM, there was a knock on the door. It was my employer, heading to a hippie-style gathering in the forest to celebrate Christmas. He figured I might be alone and decided to come in person since I hadn't answered my phone.
Of course, I said yes, and it turned out to be one of the most heartwarming experiences of my life. The group was incredibly kind, and even though I was the only foreigner, they went out of their way to make me feel included (switching to English when talking to each other, for example). The setting was magical: small fires inside carved logs, nature-themed decorations, and delicious food I'd never tasted before. I was so happy.
That day, my love for Germany grew a hundredfold.
I explicitly do not want such a thing in many of my HTML-apps, but one could add it with relative ease.
You can also use the contenteditable attribute and use no JS, so you basically have a notepad.
It looks like this on Firefox, Windows: https://imgur.com/zNlEGgK
Apparently, they even have a v4 reboot: https://www.tko.io/
It does make forks a lot easier, though!
Another advantage is that it makes it clear what you’re saving, reducing the likelihood of errors being persisted.
Python? Huge respect, huge ecosystem, however I don't know if it's just me but I find it mighty hard to read. PHP with the "->" and Python with the space-sensitivity... Not sure why but it's so hard for me to overcome.
It's still clearly an exaggeration, but one could argue that reality is gradually moving in that direction.
The opposite seems to be working in Argentina, sure, but I always quote Kuznets when it comes up: "there are 4 types of economies: developed, undeveloped, japan and Argentina".
As someone who studied economics and is doing wildly different things, I'm looking forward to see how the "DOGE" thing Elon is doing will change things. I bet it'll be for the worse, but there is a reason why I didn't become an economist at the end :)
But with which skilled workforce? Investment? Regulatory flexibility? Infrastructure? Energy?
So the real question is "how", IMHO.

I also sort of made SSR work under next.js (not to be mixed with server-components), but that took a lot of hacks and going off the beaten path:
Seriously though, for me, it's like Christmas when he releases a new video.
Now I'm not sure if are you arguing that a name change is not supporting a product or that Gemini is a different product with a different feature set?
I'm sorry.
Incredibly bad track record of supporting products that don't grow. I'm not saying this to defend Google, I'm still (perhaps unreasonably) angry because of Reader, it's just that there is a pattern and AI isn't likely to fit that for a long while.
To be even more honest, I never thought that PHP was dying, but I often thought it should not be used for new projects.
Previous job was in a very PHP-oriented company and it was just a Java alternative, the only advantage being the edit and refresh page dev cycle, and being worse in every other way. Perhaps Laravel could have changed my mind, as most devs there hated Laravel because of the magic (some then proceeded to implement control flows with typed exception throwing so maybe not the greatest bunch to discuss such things)
I don't support any forced relocation of groups of people and find even very long prison sentences debatable. I'm also a big proponent of forcing Turkey to recognize the Armenian and other genocides. Nice try to poison the well though.
People build their lives somewhere, relocating them usually means many steps back. If you ever migrated into a complete new country with different values and language, you would understand.
