eYsYs··on Facebook is blocking Canadians’ posts on the assassination of a BC Sikh leader
> Murdering someone without trial because you don't like their political speech- why, I think there's a word for that.

Oh yeah? What's the word for accusing someone for murdering without an iota of proof?

eYsYs··on Show HN: I made a site where you practice typing by retyping entire novels
Amazing idea. How did you figure out the licensing aspects since you are also giving out book content for free in the process?

Looks like it is one of those posts on HN that beg to question - will HN sustain its quality?

eYsYs··on Just Delete Me – A directory of direct links to delete your accounts
Out of context though but the same story was submitted to HN 4 months ago. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6238053, yet today it clicked. Reminds me of http://blog.ploki.info/what-if-successful-posts-on-hackernew...
eYsYs··on Portal for sharing news and articles
Neat. Needs a bit of work though. At least 3 things come at the top of my mind: 1) Search 2) Categorization/keyword 3) Don't directly dump the page in an internal frame. Use some content summarization tool. I loved the way readability.js by arc90 worked. Use that. Do a world of good to your users and your website.
eYsYs··on MobilECG
Even more so, the point I liked is about introducing the concept of open sourcing to medical equipment manufacture.

>Fed up with the unreasonably high price, cumbersome design, and dishonest distribution practices of clinical ECG machines, I decided to create mobilECG, a clinical ECG that is different.

Maybe one day we'll see some more open sourced sophisticated equipment, which are not only portable, but also reasonably priced and better designed.

eYsYs··on Sachin Tendulkar leaves India in tears
I particularly liked the way Harsha Bhogle compared how a nation clings to heroic figures during dark times. Don Bradman served as a hope to the cricketing fraternity of the time after the second World War and similarly Sachin was the fulcrum for the Indian people to look up to and induce a fighting spirit, especially after the Indian economic debacle of 1991-92.

Quoting it again, "When Sachin made a 100, India slept well."

eYsYs··on Can you crowdsource a sales team? Yes.
This takes the definition of the word 'crowdsourcing' to a new level.
eYsYs··on Indian generics and AIDS
If we talk about the broader perspective, so much credit should go to the Indian Supreme court and its patent office for taking bold stance, time and again, on this broken patent system, allowing generics to make affordable ones.

For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novartis_v._Union_of_India_%26_... talks about how cancer drug were made affordable. Novartis (Switzerland) set the price of Gleevec at USD 2666 per patient per month (which is almost double of India's annual per-capita nominal GDP USD1414); Whereas, generic companies were selling their versions at USD 177 to 266 per patient per month. We can safely presume the situation to be much worse in Africa.

Based on this possibility, support is being replicated to Africa, notably for cancer, AIDS and TB.

eYsYs··on Firefox 25 is released
Hey FF team, did you get the cake from IE guys? This tradition started by IE always makes a good story to tell, especially for an industry infamous for cut-throat competition.
eYsYs··on How Play-i Orchestrated Their Big Launch ($130K in one day)
IMO, it happened so, not because of their launch strategy but more so solely because of the product and the vision that they are selling. The launch plan is pretty much by the book, extra points for the media kit though, and full marks to the product!
eYsYs··on uTorrent tricking users into changing default browser settings?
This reminds me of an argument given by my friend proposing that a person has a higher tendency to do bad to the people who we know are bad. Even your good-guy-Greg has an inclination (of sorts) to bring down/harass/make money off your scumbag-Steve, even when Steve's actions were inconsequential to Greg; which I thought was an apt observation from someone who thinks a lot in absolutes. Maybe its the 'easy to get away with factor' or maybe its the karma kicking in.

My point is, torrent usage is synonymous to piracy, infringement and other illegal activities. So, perhaps it is this tendency that makes people at uTorrent think that it is not totally wrong to rip off people who are ripping off content & software makers. In my experience, I never fully trusted uTorrent. It is simply difficult to trust something that allows advertisement of malware, porn, fraudulent sites. It started off quite well, but then it has been on my watch list since quite some time now.

eYsYs··on Google’s iron grip on Android: Controlling open source by any means necessary
> What I don't like about Android is that it doesn't come with a good email client that's not GMail.

That would be like saying that the default camera app does not come with filters, shaders and other features that you like. What Google does is, gives a good enough app for generic use and leaves options open for developers to make better things and put them on the Play Store.

If Google starts incorporating all such features, it'll get much more difficult for developers to earn through the store.

eYsYs··on The new Galaxy Note 3 is region-locked
Well, I don't see any custom ROMs for iPhones. These are magnificent at times. CyanogenMod users know what I'm talking about.
eYsYs··on Go Pro on a soaring eagle [video]
More than that, it is so very peaceful.

But, I'm afraid people are going to hurt a lot of birds in making more videos like this.

eYsYs··on BlackBerry to cut up to 40 percent of employees
I think Microsoft has a better chance of creating a more sustainable ecosystem, especially when it comes to having a seamless personal and enterprise experience. I'm talking 3-5 years down the line here.

Meanwhile, I'd be more worried if I were Apple. It will be hard for them to keep-up with the innovation. Especially since there is a flood of new OSes coming like Ubuntu, Tizen, Firefox and more flexible HW platforms.

eYsYs··on Watch how fast people are upgrading to iOS 7
Not an even comparison. If you really want to compare, then have a look at updates for Nexus devices.
eYsYs··on List of Seattle Startups
The link re-directs to http://seattle.started.in. Moreover, 'started.in' has a trademark over it.

Isn't it true that domain '.in' is supposed to be used in context to India?

eYsYs··on Why I’d rather write in Medium than my personal blog
Well, Medium is good. But I like the way I find content on Quora than on Medium. Its more like I stumble upon a post through someone's good answers and comments. Feels more like a discovery. Medium gives me a much narrow view of the author. Something only what the author wants me to see and nothing more.
eYsYs··on Why I’d rather write in Medium than my personal blog
Quora anyone? As a writer, I feel its neat, accessible and of course reliable. People are more likely to follow your profile on Quora than signup with their emails on your personal blog. And don't forget the easy-to-earn upvotes and shares. Down side: No analytics :(

As a reader, Quora gives me more insight about the author through answers on diverse topics.
