dzhiurgis··on Gemini 4 Argon
Took me 6M codex tokens yesterday to get omarchy wifi working on macbook
dzhiurgis··on Gemini 4 Argon (High): Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
It's half cost of gpt for same intelligence. Nearly 4x cheaper than claude.
dzhiurgis··on Ukraine Can't Stop Russia's Jet-Powered Shahed Drone
What would troops even do there? Join the meat grinder?

Most Eastern European nations agreed on the first month of the war - Ukraine needs long-range weapons.

Russia must be stopped.

dzhiurgis··on America.gov
I have my doubts. France ranks just one spot above Lithuania and in fucking sucked in Lithuania https://www.theglobaleconomy.com/rankings/wb_government_effe...
dzhiurgis··on Tesla takes on $30B in credit as it approaches unprofitability
> aging rapidly.

Visually yes, but technology still vastly mogs all but zeekr maybe.

But that doesn’t matter - most people seem to buy cars entirely by how it looks.

dzhiurgis··on America.gov
> Frankly, it would be really interesting to benchmark it against the other models

Good luck making it apolitical

dzhiurgis··on America.gov
I agree our services are incredibly clear and straightforward (despite chatbot getting a cull)

I was recently back to Europe and it’s basically comedy (tragedy to be precise) how bureaucratic the whole system is.

dzhiurgis··on macOS Golden Gate Is a Buggy Mess
With how easy it is to vibe code everything Apple’s walled garden days are numbered
dzhiurgis··on Vermont replacing power plants with home batteries
Why would you put it in peoples homes and not at substations/next to residential transformers?
dzhiurgis··on SpaceX's Starship launching to orbit for first time ever today
IDK how much they oversell it but also single sat probably is maxxed out for that location only, so all constellation is held back by single sat (tho there are usually few you can connect to).
dzhiurgis··on SpaceX's Starship launching to orbit for first time ever today
> I for one am happy that kids living in remote villages can now access online schools and sick people can consult their problems at least with some online doctor.

It is going to be truly amazing for a lot of small communities around the world. I don't want to deny this game changing technology at all.

But given how much of us westerners are beginning to loathe screens and internet (or social media for no good reason), I wonder how this "lets connect everyone" movement changes?

p.s. the biggest sleeper is that v3 finally enables mass direct-to-cell feature. "Villagers" won't need special terminal anymore - even the cheapest android smartphone will be able to get online. There's even been a quiet campaign on X to enable direct-to-cell capability in Iran during protests, so imagine what sort of societal changes this can pull off.

dzhiurgis··on SpaceX's Starship launching to orbit for first time ever today
Oh please stop it, you don't need to make it even more attractive.
dzhiurgis··on SpaceX's Starship launching to orbit for first time ever today
By itself no, but parking bunch of ballistic sats / hypersonic vehicles in orbit for 10th the price of enemy is attractive. A lot of strategy in war is not just capability but logistics and cost. And US has been particularly bad at keeping costs at bay.
dzhiurgis··on SpaceX's Starship launching to orbit for first time ever today
> 1 Tbps of capacity each

1000000 mbps / 50 mbps per Starlink customer * 80$ per month * 12 months * 26 satellites = $500M revenue per year added per launch.

dzhiurgis··on EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon
I grew up in Europe. And lived car free 5 years in London and biked 6 months in Netherlands. I have 70 countries stamped on my passport.

There's plenty of cars in Europe and in some sense traffic is worse there than here in NZ.

Let's not pretend they gone extinct there and everything is fine and dandy just because you walked everywhere for a week while visiting some old town.

dzhiurgis··on Nissan's third generation e-POWER powertrain
Aka EREV, thats becoming majority of “PHEVs” now.
dzhiurgis··on EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon
8 hours. That’s about 900km right?

You’d need about 135 kwh total energy at 15kwh/100km efficiency. Assuming you leave with full battery - thats about 60kwh or a bit over an hour of charge at 50kw.

dzhiurgis··on EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon
Tesla’s motors are like $200 or 1k for rare ones
dzhiurgis··on EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon
Yeah I’d prefer teleportation, time travel and world peace too.
dzhiurgis··on Hubble Network Opens Satellite Coverage to All Bluetooth Devices
I'd easily assume that has been done for past 2 decades
dzhiurgis··on Allow babywearing carriers on planes
Yep did 2 times NZ <> Europe with 2 and 3 kids. It's a piece of cake IMO.

Much harder to keep them entertained them at home lol.

dzhiurgis··on Allow babywearing carriers on planes
Can you guys produce easy to read installation and cleaning manuals and not something designed by legal department. I think I can handle complex stuff, but car seats are just next level.
dzhiurgis··on Allow babywearing carriers on planes
I'm so sick of this sentiment. Do people actually believe or is it just some weird excuse?

You can buy special car seats that can fit 3 across even in the smallest cars of Europe.

dzhiurgis··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
Yeah that's insane reach. I haven't carried keys or wallet for years.

IDK what apps do you even mean as the car can unlocked and controlled by simple public key exchange. Internet connectivity is optional.

dzhiurgis··on Astronomer watches Starlink satellites sinking to build a 'planetary barometer'
Same. Somehow first 50% of mass to orbit was woke science and next 50% is fascist oppression.
dzhiurgis··on Zelensky says Russia has widened attacks to hit Ukraine's data centres
China depends on Iranian oil, but so far have been resilient with reserves. IMO prolonged conflict is good as it will start starving China eventually.
dzhiurgis··on Zelensky says Russia has widened attacks to hit Ukraine's data centres
Same solar panel wattage yields something like 10-15x more power in space. Given biggest shortage for building on earth has been power - I don’t see it being actually cheaper.

Sure there are other issues with getting there, cooling, radiation. But for cost of power prices - space has huge advantage.

Also seems a lot of people on far left seem agree we shouldn’t be building them which yields extra support for SpaceX.

dzhiurgis··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
No one is changing their brake fluid every 2-3 years, EV nor ICE lol.
dzhiurgis··on Toyota is taking the Corolla electric
Europe isn't good example either as it's heavily tarriffed
dzhiurgis··on Why Omarchy Exists
He's persona non-grata. Left media never writes about him and if they do - it's always negative.

Cancelling people for merely trying to open conversation (mind these aren't some extreme ideas either) is just fucked up thing to do.
