durazabu··on Org Mode syntax is one of the most reasonable markup languages for text (2017)
What do you think about my orgmode obsidian plugin?

https://github.com/BBazard/obsidian-orgmode-cm6

durazabu··on Org tutorials
The reason is that elisp org-mode is huge and re-implementing it without elisp is a great undertaking.

I started an implementation in javascript that I integrated in an obsidian plugin [0]. But the plugin has a long way to go before reaching feature parity with emacs orgmode.

durazabu··on Former telecom manager admits to doing SIM swaps for $1k
Biometrics like fingerprint scans can only be used as a username, not a password. Reusing passwords is a bad practice and having 200 different biometrics for 200 different services is not realistic. As soon as your fingerprint that you registered on your lost phone is leaked you will be in a world of trouble if you use it for other services. (Also biometrics can change with time)
durazabu··on Some Miscellaneous Git Facts
The index and the staging area are not the same thing. If you define staging area as what will be committed, then the staging area is only one part of the index. The index also records untracked files and conflicts for example.

durazabu··on Comprehensive Keyboard Handling in Terminals
Thank you for your work on neovim :)

I noticed the difference by playing with kitty. It makes me consider switching to a compatible terminal emulator.

durazabu··on Comprehensive Keyboard Handling in Terminals
It seems like the protocol has not been implemented yet in neovim.

Glad to see this page featured again.

Is there any advance on that front?

durazabu··on What happens when you press a key in your terminal?
Fascinating, thank you for informing me.
durazabu··on What happens when you press a key in your terminal?
Same mechanism that we could use to disambiguate keys like ^H and backspace.

durazabu··on Building an interface (even if there's only one implementation) is always right
Yes, you go further than 12 factors with my favorite point of the article:

> It’s much better to have a DataBackend that has implementations like Postgres14DataBackend and MySQL8DataBackend rather than just changing the driver: 'postgres' to driver: 'mysql' in some configuration file.

durazabu··on Building an interface (even if there's only one implementation) is always right
I mean using Java interfaces for backing services, as opposed to using Java interfaces for every Java classes.
durazabu··on Building an interface (even if there's only one implementation) is always right
Some people on this thread are talking about the java interface keyword in general whereas it seems to me OP is talking specifically about interfaces to backing services [0].

durazabu··on Own your calendar and contacts with OpenBSD, Baïkal, and FOSS Android
How I use DecSync for my calendar without any central server:

Thunderbird (Linux) - Radicale+Radicale DecSync plugin (Linux/Systemd) - 'DecSync' Folder (Linux) - Syncthing (Linux) - Syncthing-fork (Android/F-droid) - 'DecSync' Folder (Android) - Decsync CC (Android/F-droid) - Simple Calendar Pro (Android/F-droid)

Radicale runs only on localhost. Syncthing runs only on the local network.

The synchronization only happens if the computer and the phone are on the same wifi network.

Draw.io (now diagrams.net) has some support for interactive diagrams.

durazabu··on Barrier: Share mouse and keyboard between computers
I see, I am surprised they don't mention the fact that barrier doesn't appear in github search [1], most likely because it is tagged as a fork.

[1] https://github.com/search?q=barrier

durazabu··on Barrier: Share mouse and keyboard between computers
No need for additional hardware. Take two Barrier-connected computers, the mouse can travel from one screen to the other. When using the keyboard, it inputs on the monitor with the mouse focus. Since it's UI based you need a screen per device yes.
durazabu··on Barrier: Share mouse and keyboard between computers
Barrier has been forked to https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap which has a hundred more commits by the same devs.

The name is still barrier though, has anyone more info about this fork?

durazabu··on PipeWire: A year in review and a look ahead
You are definitely not the only one was has the issue about the automatic switching to bluetooth headset. One workaround is to run `pactl load-module module-switch-on-connect` (not persisted across reboot) as recommended on the arch wiki:
