Expanding this question: can a country where the government lies to its citizens, and withholds information from the press, and actively seeks to discredit news sources critical of it be considered a democracy?
If citizens cannot be informed they cannot make rational, democratic decisions.
Redis also comes to mind.
The FDA has never approved a vaccine for humans that is effective against any member of the coronavirus family, which includes SARS, MERS, and several that cause the common cold.
If political pressure/regulatory relaxation allows a vaccine to enter the market I would be suspicious of its efficacy.

On the other hand I am mystified by all the security hype. Yes I might be able to guess a Zoom meeting ID, just as if I might guess your phone number and prank call you. In a Zoom meeting you can see who is connected. In the old days of conference calls do you remember asking “who’s on the line?”. What are you talking about that requires encryption?
If so there are tools for that - signal, etc.
That’s going to be really challenging. Good one!
No matter what, in a corporate environment you will need to be accountable to cost, which is simply humans * time. So some type of estimate will be needed.
One the other hand this is also a political statement. They are clearly signaling to the politicians that they better shield them from further liability or expect more of this behavior. Shut the power down when the wind blows, after each earthquake until the lines can be checked, etc. My money is the politicians fold. The stock rose 3% Friday.
The people who contribute the most should have a proportional say in how it’s spent. This is “fairness”. Numerically there will be more people who contribute less and fewer people who contribute more under a regressive system.
All of us share the benefits of social programs and health care even if we are not directly benefiting. Society works, and people can regain health, etc. and start contributing to the overall pool of tax money again.
At no point should tax become a method to redistribute wealth - although that’s exactly what it’s become.
We can all agree that some people earn so little they don’t have to pay into the “common benefit fund” (tax) but then shouldn’t they lose the right to decide how the funds are spent?
