It’s a self hosted email software.
What it is: Self-hosted email marketing software
Been doing so since 2024 (pre AI coding era).
Would be kind of funny if someone from the team came out and said it was written by a human.
Just bought a MacBook Air that I didn't need to hedge in case my current laptop breaks down. Won't be buying it at the higher price.
It’s a self-hosted email marketing/newsletter app. The basic idea is: own your subscriber database, run the app on your own server, and send through SES/Postmark/Mailgun/SMTP instead of being locked into another SaaS.
Not trying to be “Mailchimp but cheaper”. It’s more for technical founders, agencies, and consultants who want a boring, controllable email tool they can deploy for themselves or clients.
I’ve kept the changelog public because I wanted the work to be visible: https://sendbroadcast.net/changelog
My buyers are typically people who want to own their data and are in regions that have strict data privacy regulation/laws.
Interesting fact: This was my real last project where v1 was built by hand before AI coding became the norm in the software industry.
"AI told me that..."
In the old days, it would have been "I read on Google..."
When it came time to submitting to the app store, we needed app store screenshots. I didn't want to buy "yet another software".
So, I created this (Disclaimer: with the help of AI).
Enjoy.
Currently on v1, but working on v2 release in the next month.
And it writes with more clarity too.
The only people who are complaining about "AI slop" are those whose jobs depend on AI to go away (which it won't).
Tagline: Turn your knowledge into interactive guides
Had the domain for 2 years, and finally putting it to use.
It’s an email marketing tool, self-hosted, for use with existing ESPs like Postmark, Mailgun, Amazon SES, etc.
Been working on this since September 2024, and have been consistently hacking away at it weekly: https://sendbroadcast.net/changelog.
Why I built this: I occasionally find the need to build CLI scripts. Whether it be for resetting variables, performing some mundane task, it seemed to involve the same process of trial and error. I wondered if it would be possible to create some sort of reusable blocks and design my CLI program with a web UI. This way, anyone on my team could modify it who weren't comfortable touching bash scripts or just wanted something where they could clone and tinker for their own needs easily.
Be happy to answer any questions!
But the number of parents who take this so seriously would surprise anyone not part of this culture.
The travelling, the hotel rooms, the large number of tournaments played every week -- all these things start early (7-8 years old). School? Forget about it. They're superficially home-schooled. Tennis is all they do, and if they're lucky (at least by the standards of the article), they don't get good enough to be a low-level "pro" and get a chance to go to school for a proper education and get a regular job that pays well.
If they're unlucky, they get a D1 school, on a full-ride scholarship, and then waste a few years of their lives continuuing to damage their bodies in pursuit of "making it" as a pro tennis player.
Not crazy, if one could allocate a small amount of money to it.
Things are made “safe” because there is now always a risk of getting sued when stuff happens.
Unfortunately, the same people who are in position to change things for the better (ie. to make a country more competitive, innovative) stands to benefit from more bureaucracy, not less.
