So now I usually just work to pay bills and spending money, stashing away for a rainy day, etc. Most of it goes to taxes.
Given UBI, I probably wouldn't even need to bother.

But most young people are not going to pack up and move to a small rural town in the middle of nowhere.
Companies came to big cities because that is where young talent wanted to live. Not the other way around.
Other than that I think it will be business as usual.
I think the vast majority want to go back once it is safe to do so.
On the other hand, I think the large majority of people want to go back to the office (once it is safe to do so)
They still want to live and work in downtown cities. They still want to go to the office and mingle/network.
HN is an echo chamber.
Personally, it seems blatantly obvious that Zoom cannot replace face-to-face interactions whether in a work setting or in an educational setting.
The people advocating "100% remote and video calls for everything" are either just really short sighted or have some other motive going on.
Just turn off your camera. Video meetings where you sit at your desk and stare into your screen for an hour is just stupid.
I do all my calls voice only while going for a walk or doing chores around the house.
If it's important, they'll follow up.
Of course, this is my opinion, but it seems pretty obvious that in-person interaction is what builds relationships.
