Do not understand.

I guess, you suggest to add 'about us' and 'product overview' info to the main page. Correct?

Type "Mountain" on your slide then press Ctrl+J.

Or, 1) click a slide, 2) type keyword as slide content 3) three vertical dots to open menu 4) click "Next stock background"

There are two ways you can add new slide: 1) Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter 2) '+' button on the bottom left

Yes, the first priority of MeetSlides is to allow create presentation using keyboard. You can use mouse, but you don' have to.

Using keyboard you stay focused on the message, not on adjusting layout.

Cheers.

> I mean I didn't catch the point what is difference from other such applications for presentations

The main difference is that you can type the whole presentation without using a mouse/touchpad. The presentation looks nice out of the box.

Also, while typing you will think about your message and content. Not about how to adjust layout.

Yes, you can add YouTube video as a slide background. Just paste the video link to the text of the slide.

Love the idea, love the UI. I see same UI approach can give life to quite many new tools.

I'll try it when they repair my Mac

dkaigorodov··on The State of JavaScript 2018
I don't understand what is "Native Apps"? No links are provided.

The description is "tools_descriptions.native-apps", on the page https://2018.stateofjs.com/mobile-and-desktop/native-apps, which is probably, a bug.

My guesses are:

1) Non-JS mobile native apps built on Java and Swift.

2) Native script https://www.nativescript.org/

3) Smth idk about.

dkaigorodov··on Why does deep and cheap learning work so well?
Large companies like Google and Facebook will easily be able adapt to the change. They have an army of lawyers and workforce for this. Smaller startup? They will face challenges. Especially European ones. Most possibly, this "innovation" will end up as one more pop-up with "Accept or Leave" message on every website you are visiting from Europe for the first time.

Well, that's an awesome story. Love the fact you found a way to commercialize your product and find a way to sustain and serve low-money customers.

I always had a bit similar issue with PHP. I always forgot "this" before calling a method or accessing a field.

It was a very important step for people of USSR to understand that TV != truth. The movie was to the very point. Quite an important topic for USSR with an absolutely absurd statement just forces people to think and rely on their own judgement only. And it simple to do in this case.

Now people not just was given a freedom to think. Now it is a must. To think and to have OWN opinion.

dkaigorodov··on Help Fight Patent Trolls – Support the SHIELD Act
I have just one question: where to sign against the SHIELD?

If you are judging on something you are to consider both options. And it is not about software/hardware producers and p-trolls. The law is to protect authors. In some way the law is to embrace innovation and progress (despite it is not the main value).

Producers want do use the law to create monopoly. To eliminate minor innovators and use they innovations for free. What about scientists? What about research groups? Does they innovations "practical"? Mostly not, but still these people might understand the direction of technology and take actions that are two steps ahead of producers. Our society is called "postindustrial" not because the great development of IT but of lack of development "industrial" things. Progress became extensive and not moving forward. Science became servant of production, faith by itself. Science loosing criticism -- the approach that leads to better models of the world.

Author of innovation is nobody, a pawn in the hands of mighty producers, and we, the consumers is to worship great producers, ought to sacrifice all this minor and unworthy author. Who even dares to remember the authors?

Also, consider rights of "real" innovation authors -- in-company engineers. Are they any protected? Do they really have author right's at some moment? They are the authors! Many of them are quite unique in special areas. Did they have a voice?

SHIELD act protect producers to create monopolies. It is uncertain that the act will decrease possibilities of pure trolls. The origin of author's rights is not about the areas where it is applied now, current approach is outdated. But even complete rejection of author's rights is better than the SHIELD law.
