If you want to be a more active weather participant check out the mPing project.
Importing and editing a single photo is easy, but if I want to work on a whole batch it becomes a pain trying to manage many files using file system.
So far the best solution I've found is to pay for Adobe cloud storage, import my photos to the Lightroom app (thus not polluting my camera roll) and let Adobe sync everything to my desktop where the photos eventually live on an external hard drive.
Side note: Despite this the actual act of manipulating photos on the iPad are fantastic. I love being able to shoot an event and then start editing a couple photos for promotional purposes right then and there. Overall I love my big expensive tablet.
If other people have developed iPad / iOS photography workflows I'd love to hear them!

I assume the Pi broadcasts a WiFi hotspot and then they use some Remote Desktop software, but I'd love to know specifics of what people have found works!
CTRL + [
is the same as pressing the escape key, it took me a couple days, but now it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
I’ve been using a combination of (Python shell & IDE), Working Copy (Git, can monitor and commit changes a folder in your iCloud Drive which Pythonista can also access), and Termius for ssh.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to fit Buffer (editing files on remote server via ssh) into my workflow but haven’t yet.
It’s not perfect, but I like traveling with my iPad more than my MacBook Pro because it’s smaller and as an added bonus I can also edit photos from my DSLR on it.
I’ve been coding on an iPad Pro via SSH but would like to have a full Linux desktop environment.

If you were to sequence this man's genome and add it to the 23 & Me database (or some similar service) would you be able to get any interesting results?
Is there an existing database of historical DNA sequences available for comparing against?
