yeah but how much are employers spending to lobby, etc, and is that not a significant force-multiplier on their 1.5B direct spend against unions?

disantlor··on What are the most common tinnitus frequencies? (2015)
I can relate to the last bit; I sometimes have (or notice) tinnitus when going to bed. I try to think about what frequency it is exactly and it seems like the direction attention to it causes it to go away (or at least get much more quiet)

disantlor··on Improved audio rendering with an optimised version of memcpy (2013)
thats not a great argument because often the master for a vinyl record is different (crucially, less hyped and compressed) to even be cuttable on vinyl. thus the final product actually can sound better in some cases (not all), not directly because of the vinyl playback but the production processes leading up to that.

that price difference is being externalized somehow, so, if it's possible (and of course it's not for everyone) it's best to just pay the higher price imo. it's better for society and the neighborhood

disantlor··on Expected changes with Dropbox for macOS
I record audio at my studio into a dropbox folder on an external drive. I paid for a business plan (and the required 3 seats, only using one) so I could have unlimited storage.

This drive is always syncing to the cloud.

I go home (or travel) and can selectively sync specific projects, which still viewing the entire tree and keeping everything organized.

Neither internal drive is large enough to hold the files.

This workflow is so perfect Ive built my entire creative process around it. It’s completely broken by this change.

I’ve been a huge proponent of Dropbox and pay them over 1k a year as an individual just for this functionality.

As far as I can tell, there is no alternative.
