You would have to add the weight of the material and track the pressure of each cell along.
Also, you could introduce a 'firmness' factor, so that the rock would break at some pressure level.

I still stand to what I wrote , because I think it is important to stress that it is important to follow your ideas, even if their odds might be low. Being downvoted is somewhat ironical on a meta level.
Twice."
If one sees 'the art of lone game programming' as a genre then this might be true. One successful lonely game programmer leads to a gold rush of many lonely game programmers digging the iKlondike for gold.
But I am pretty sure that there is always room for the brilliant idea that no one can grasp when you pitch it. I personally would have talked Notch out of the idea for Minecraft with the usual arguments (blocky graphics, not state-of-the-art, there's no real goal, etc pp). And when I played it, I was like - omg, I could have done that.
There always will be a lonely (game) programmer doing something extraordinary that you didn't think of in the first place or even despised. And then there is the next Notch, and I will again say - omg, not again.
And some of us have big ideas and don't dare to join the art of lonely game programming.
It would be interesting to create a game where the population has limited ressources on a planet and if it overdoes the exploitation it gets extinct (like 'How bis is our island' https://twitter.com/dirkk/status/549866431480074240 ). Also I was equally inspired by Vi Harts and Nick Cases 'Parable of the Polygons' (http://ncase.me/polygons/).
'Boidz' and 'Game of Life' make complex behaviours from a simple set of rules. It was very smart of you to throw in some simplified physics rules (and civilization rules etc) to make these work together.
I can't access your website right now (is it down?), so I don't know if you run a blog or something. Will you continue to work on this?
Every now and then I visit Amit's pages and find something interesting that he explains in an awesome way.
They attack the PSN and XBox networks. Kim Schmitz gives them 3000 vouchers for Mega to save christmas (what?) and/or the world. Then they claim, he's the reason they stopped the attacks.
And then they target their next victim. My point is: one might not like Kim but he is way too smart to expect such a barter to be successful.
So, given his own background, what makes him this? A stupid hero? Or is there a much smarter option?
Here is an approach in Python albeit not as interactive as the mentioned article: http://pixelenvy.ca/wa/ca_cave.html
In case people didn't recognize, the author of the articel is also the author of this book which is for free (kudos!) on the interwebs and can be bought as a eBook. http://gameprogrammingpatterns.com/
Is the OPs music (i.e. the game music) up on Soundcloud or Youtube or may I take it from the sources like 'wget https://notendur.hi.is/~keh4/TRON/assets/boats.m4a'?
Does this work on a Mac and/or Linux?
I wonder if there are good resources to create Blender scenes in Python with the full rendering step.
Wouter van Oortmerssen is not exactly a Newbie. He is at Google now. This might be more interesting than I initially thought.
Reminds me totally of today's SMBC: http://www.smbc-comics.com/?id=3553#comic
As far as I understood, the [MEAN.io](http://mean.io) stack implements OAuth2 like this - at the 'cost' of having two MVCs: one on the server side to deal with the authentifiction, 404 and 500, and the AngularJS one on the client side.
I hoped that there was an easier way to deal with the whole scenario, but obviously that is a good one.
But it would be great to have a concept where you create a model of a table by creating a cylinder, copy and translate it three times, add a flat cube, connect these 5 pieces, and name them table. Then you would have another (non-)primitive that you can instanciate and maybe have some parameters to change it.
