didip··on DOOM Over DNS
What is the serialization format? Base64?
didip··on Goodbye to Sora
The thing about Sora is that it becomes outdated very quickly. OpenAI cannot even protect THAT moat properly.
didip··on Apple announces new Mac sales record following MacBook Neo launch
What you just described is not better than Macbook Neo.
didip··on Apple announces new Mac sales record following MacBook Neo launch
What’s so bad about it? I haven’t noticed anything different.

I only need Apple ecosystem integrations, Docker, a bunch of CLI tools, Homebrew, and VSCode with Claude.

didip··on Show HN: Antfly: Distributed, Multimodal Search and Memory and Graphs in Go
in the query_test.go, I don’t see how the hybrid search is being exercised.

For fun I am making hybrid search too and would love to see how you merge the two list (semantic and keyword) and rerank the importance score.

didip··on Claude struggles to cope with ChatGPT exodus
Suffering from success in a good way. ChatGPT truly lost all of its edge.
didip··on Warn about PyPy being unmaintained
wow, that would be a big shame. I hope many of the useful learnings are already ported to CPython.
didip··on Ask HN: Would you use a job board where every listing is verified?
How do you verify? A legit company CAN post ghost jobs.
didip··on Tell HN: I'm 60 years old. Claude Code has re-ignited a passion
Claude Code is definitely stoking the tiny ember that’s almost went out completely.

I am only 43, but on the last year of my career, suddenly my level of care in big corporate politics nose dived to almost zero. To the point that I happily retired myself.

After messing around with some hard subjects, with the help of Claude Code, the little boy who used to love programming so much is waking up again.

didip··on UUID package coming to Go standard library
Based on the conversation, is it actually coming?
didip··on Statement from Dario Amodei on our discussions with the Department of War
I like the enthusiasm, but remember that Google used to be: “Don’t be Evil”
didip··on Margin Call
As a shareholder, this is super fantastic.
didip··on Apple to soon take up to 30% cut from all Patreon creators in iOS app
Soon Google will do the same thing. And then what?

The practical way out is to just buy QQQ and get some of your money back.

didip··on Tether says it bought 27 tons of gold in fourth quarter
What is the point of stablecoin holder to hold gold?

digital currency cannot be trusted on its own?

didip··on The future of software engineering is SRE
Real SRE? or low skilled sysadmin drowned in pagers calling themselves as SRE? Because the future is bleak if it’s the latter.
didip··on Google Books removed all search functions for any books with previews
Google Books could have been a subscription service ala Netflix.

Then it would have been hella useful.

didip··on A macOS app that blurs your screen when you slouch
lol, whenever I am hacking intensely, I am lying down on my bed with laptop tilted with the perfect angle.

I guess this app won’t catch me slouching then.

didip··on Adoption of EVs tied to real-world reductions in air pollution: study
Anyone can argue ICE vs EV all night long but there's only 1 metric I care about, in favor of EV:

When I am going to take my son to school, he doesn't have to smell the gas and the fumes from the exhaust in the garage.

didip··on BirdyChat becomes first European chat app that is interoperable with WhatsApp
The sky might as well rains toads before this happens.
didip··on Bugs Apple loves
Nobody ever gets promoted from fixing bugs, no matter how bad the bugs are. And this is true even in much smaller companies.
didip··on Provide agents with automated feedback
I thought you are talking about back pressure pipes in my housing complex.

I’ve been wondering why I can’t use it to generate electricity.

didip··on Ask HN: Is it still worth pursuing a software startup?
It depends how surgical your product market fit is and how fast you capture the identified market.

Everything else is just details and it doesn’t matter if the idea is rehashed a million times.

didip··on Raising money fucked me up
When doing my own startup in the past, the biggest pain were: loneliness and inexplicable paranoia. Which then lead to anxiety.

This, when unchecked, can lead to self inflicted, unnecessary pressure on myself. And failure to meet the impossible deadlines, created downward spiral.

I think this is normal, everyone went through the same thing. That’s why some VCs filter for megalomaniacs, zealots, or people who have no idea what pain is, because the journey is insane arduous.

The pain magnifies if the startup is located in VHCOL. Every month a whale appears and eat a big chunk of your runway. Who wouldn’t have anxiety?

didip··on Ask HN: Distributed SQL engine for ultra-wide tables
Try StarRocks. I am totally not affiliated with them but I have investigated them deeply in the past.

That said, I have never seen 1 million columns.

didip··on Show HN: Axis – A systems programming language with Python syntax
How do you know this? It looks more like some kid’s homework
didip··on Which programming languages are most token-efficient?
Does it account for errors generated from Runtime bugs which caused rerunning of prompts?

Because that’s what happened in the real world when generating a bunch of untyped Python code.

didip··on Statement from Jerome Powell
Who should own the money printer if it’s not the feds?
didip··on The struggle of resizing windows on macOS Tahoe
So… it’s a good thing that the design emperor is poached by Meta, yeah?

Funny enough, I never suffered this because my mouse pointer has always been configured to be comically large. So I had adapt with inaccurate click area for many many years due to my own cause.

didip··on Don't fall into the anti-AI hype
The paragraph that was started with this sentence:

> However, this technology is far too important to be in the hands of a few companies.

I wholeheartedly agree 1000%. Something needs to change this landscape in the US.

Furthermore, the entire open source models being dominated by China is also problematic.

didip··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (January 2026)
I am super curious about tensor parallelism and the mechanisms behind how some models can activate only some of their attentions.
