Amperity is a unicorn company building a comprehensive, data foundational CDP. We're hiring engineers across all levels.
Interesting problems:
- Ingesting and cleaning large amounts of data daily and blending it with real-time events
- Automatically stitching data together across disparate systems by training machine-learning models to build a probabilistic identity graph
- Using algorithms to generate new insights based on behaviors (e.g. predicting customer lifetime value)
- Taking research algorithms and productionizing them for high-scale usage
- Allowing users to perform complex, real-time queries across an aggregated view of their data
- Publishing query result data to a diverse set of systems for client usage
We're using Clojure/ClojureScript and all the modern big data tech goodies you'd expect of a 5-year-old company. More at https://eng.amperity.com/

Amperity is a startup company founded in January 2016 to tackle the problem of customer data unification at scale.
We are hiring experienced engineers to write Clojure (and ClojureScript for the front end inclined) in Seattle, WA. Remote is an option as well for the right candidate.
This is an early stage opportunity at an ambitious, well funded startup company. Full stack Clojure, not "a bit of Clojure on the side". You'll write Clojure all day, solve difficult problems at very large scale, and get paid.
Background in large scale data processing, distributed systems, and machine learning are all major bonuses. Other elements of the stack include Mesos, Apache Aurora, Finagle, Spark, Kafka, Accumulo, Onyx, SaltStack, and Riemann.

This seems odd, my understanding was that drivers needed to "check in" every so often, not handle the wheel at all times.

The short of it is that a load function is passed to `cljs/compile-str`, which provides the mapping. In this case, it doesn't bother to do any mapping because it knows that it is loading `bar.core`. However, `bar-url` could instead be in a map from the namespace to the URL. Surprisingly simple, actually!

The React.js team has been explicit about the library being GCC advanced mode compatible, so they certainly have awareness of its capabilities. Whether they are using them together internally or they use a different solution for tree shaking et al is another question.

It's ... complicated.
We're building a global, secure healthcare PaaS using modern technology (Docker, Kafka, Redshift, etc) to enable applications which put our petabytes of unique healthcare data into action.
Looking for pragmatic hackers at various experience levels who are interested in solving hard problems in an entrepreneurial environment. Specific background isn't important, but some exposure to "big data" type things and building service oriented things with modern functional hybrid technologies (C#, Clojure, Scala, etc) is helpful.

Math is hard, buy Mathematica, buy Mathematica, here's a picture of Excel, buy Mathematica, buy Mathematica, math is hard unless you buy Mathematica, buy Mathematica, BUY MATHEMATICA, BUY MATHEMATICA, ... I SAID BUY MATHEMATICA OR MATH WILL BE HARD!!! BUY IT!!! BUY IT NOW!!!
Note that the salesmanship in the summary is a bit more subtle than the actual article.
I'm not suggesting that somebody try to survive _only_ by eating fruits and vegetables. I was suggesting eating them during the day when people would otherwise be eating potato chips and soda.
Speaking of ... as far as sugar overload is concerned, you'd have to eat three or four apples to match the sugar in a single can of cola, which has basically no nutritional value whatsoever.
In the spirit of this thread, they have zero preparation time, are easily accessible (keep them in a desk drawer, or on the desk), and have a lot of nutrients our bodies need. If you get high quality produce, it's also quite delicious.
For dinner, reward yourself with whatever other garbage you would have had instead.
