Wouldn't this logic extend to all the other amendments as well? Meaning Assange has no rights, at which points, why even bother with a trial? Just execute him as soon as he touches US soil.
Of course, this logic could be applied to all foreign nationals then.
My only question is, if US rights don't apply to foreign nationals, how come legal restrictions do apply? Can the executive branch just arbitrarily decide which laws apply to a foreign national?
"You may not engage in work, necessary for your survival, with anyone but us." - how is this not one step removed from slavery? Unless he works for Apple, all he's allowed to do is untrained labor!
And just like forced arbitration, this will become a standard element of contracts if we allow it.

Could a similar hack be done on a larger scale, and used to alter votes before they are sent, without changing the electronic signature?
Lets assume no until proven otherwise. And if proven otherwise, lets assume it was an isolated incident, and it won't happen again after a "commitment to do better".
Lets also assume Mr. Tusk's firm can be trusted - after all, why not put a private middle-man between voters and elections? As Mr. Tusk correctly points out, the only plausible explanation to resistance is wanting to suppress voters.
That suddenly might come sooner rather than later, as the Chinese Tencent has invested an undisclosed amount into Discord: https://www.pcgamer.com/every-game-company-that-tencent-has-...
The same Tencent that owns WeChat, used as a surveillance tool for results such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vspukvqxTSg
It's hard to consider simply viewing content to be malicious or abusive, no matter how automated.
How so?
Do you also shave all those, and those only, who do not shave themselves?
This backlash cannot come soon enough.
You asked about harm. Expectation of privacy is a different matter. And they might expect privacy due to wearing masks - why is it okay to regulate those, but not facial recognition? While I'm against regulating facial recognition, I'm at least aware of the harm it causes.
> If you're a peaceful protester, it shouldn't matter.
It shouldn't, but it does. If the government and corporations were so perfect that it wouldn't matter, you wouldn't be protesting in the first place.
> I think at least some of these people are secretly upset that people can't break windows and burn cars with impunity.
This is a pure ad hominem, and not a very good one either. The motivations of an imagined 'some' people are irrelevant to the harms of surveillance and facial recognition.
Then we should double the interest rates on that debt and raise taxes on the poor, to motivate them even more, and get even more economic progress! But leave the taxes on the rich low, since they've already economically progressed enough, and have done their part for the American economy.
Harms like protesters getting identified, in Hong Kong and elsewhere?
I wonder if this private enforcement of law goes both ways - can a car owner barricade Walmart's entrance to force Walmart to pay them what they've unilaterally decided they're owed?
Which is itself misleading - no living expert understands a computer system end to end, from silicon to microcode to code and compiler, not to mention the massive chain that went into making the code running on the machines.
That's all assuming the black box the expert is looking at is the same one he thinks he understands, and no chip- [1] or compiler-level [2] vulnerabilities were inserted, or the whole thing wasn't simply replaced with an identical-looking device.
