deofoo··on Johnny Decimal
This can work extremely well for one or two people. It becomes a problem when different people need to agree on what are the 10 things, categorization and maintenance.
deofoo··on Build your own lazy operation evaluator in Elixir
That's pretty cool and can scale well for parallel or concurrent computing.
deofoo··on Patterns of mean-level change in personality traits across life course (2006)
The impact of culture is another critical data-point. For example, in some cultures, elders are viewed as being kind, wise and important while in others, grumpy and useless.
deofoo··on Ballast Cleaner
There's something beautiful in a train that fix its own tracks.
deofoo··on Dynamic Forms with LiveView Streams
First, it is really good. Second, you only need to learn Elixir, no need for any Erlang knowledge.
deofoo··on Dynamic Forms with LiveView Streams
After you work with Phoenix/LiveView is soo hard to come back to anything else. I love the fact it's very opinionated and most times there's a right way to do things.

LiveView is game changer, same user experience (even better) with 10x better developer experience. No much dual state management and things just work.

deofoo··on r/all removals over time
It could be interesting to compare with marketing efforts. Follow the money..
deofoo··on Show HN: A simple echo server for testing HTTP clients
It will be cool if you add some quick script for s self-hosted version. And thank for sharing the source code.
deofoo··on Choose Boring Culture
Love the idea of boring culture. Just wanna say that these things are really measured when the company is not doing well, when you can't get another funding round or a competitor just eating your customers.

Healthy culture is measured when things are hard.

deofoo··on Show HN: Brainpick – StackOverflow for Enterprise
The beginning of the end of the free internet is here...

Nevertheless, cool idea.

deofoo··on Why you should still read the docs
True, but it really depends on the documents. Unfortunately, technical writers are not being paid adequately, so this profession is not well developed. It is a highly complex job that requires a great deal of empathy and a thorough understanding of the product, in addition to excellent writing skills.

Hire a technical writer, it will pay off.

deofoo··on Dell goes back on WFH pledge, forces employees to come back to the office
I guess we need to start enforcing WFH policy in our contracts. I have zero trust in companies to respect WFM without it. Something like, if they break the policy, an amount of X months will be paid for the employee.
deofoo··on A Flexible Type System for Fearless Concurrency (2022) [pdf]
I just love the beauty of type systems, the vast complexity and effort put into building an extensive architecture. And on the same time, systems without it are capable of wonderful things.

Just beautiful.

There are no shortcuts to managerial excellence; deeply understanding your people, their passions, challenges, and fears is crucial – focus on developing meaningful connections.
deofoo··on Ask HN: Do you follow the positive or negative pattern when programming?
Negative, this keeps things consistent and clean. Here's a great article https://szymonkrajewski.pl/why-should-you-return-early/
deofoo··on Startups Are Scooping Up Big Tech’s Cast-Off Workers
I hope the mass layoffs will end up driving growth for the startup market. So many people with great financial stability and experience. I hope...
deofoo··on Apple brings Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro to iPad
Where is the innovation? Such a disappointment.
deofoo··on Chat with any document with Sharly AI
Great stuff! Love the notion integration, can be extra useful for complex docs or after a long vacation :)
deofoo··on Engineering Levels: A Case Study from Three Perspectives
The power of a good level framework as seen through three different perspectives
deofoo··on Eng Managers, start setting expectations, it works like magic if done right
I'm really happy I was able to help somehow :) Regarding to "writing down part", I follow a strict stature to my 1-1s, which required the direct report and the manager to write down all the points and expectations, this help to reflect every week. Here you can find my template with some instructions: https://github.com/puemos/templates/blob/main/management/1on...

So why I created Radiopush?

I love music, and using Spotify changed my life, but being exposed to so many songs and albums made me confused. While Spotify mixes are a fantastic way to explore new music I missed the human touch, the excitement of sharing a new song with a friend, and celebrating a shared passion for some crazy band that only a few knows.

This project is for the community, and that's why all the source code is open. It's not about the money, I did it because I wanted to use it, I just hope enough people will join the platform so I can discover more music :)

What you can do:

1. Login with Spotify for maximum security (no need to register)

2. Create private channels to share with close friends

3. Make public channels to share with the world your amazing taste in music

4. Post songs with Spotify links 5. Preview the songs from the platform

6. Add reactions

7. (Coming soon) Add songs to your Spotify playlists
