deepserket··on Testing a new encrypted messaging app's extraordinary claims
How incompetent you have to be to ask "How were you able to decompile the source code of the app" after reading this post?
deepserket··on Mallory Messages Mallory (2016)
Mallory has managed to install malware onto a machine she normally has no business of accessing. To carry out her evil plans, she has set up a way to control the victim machine remotely. She is able to send commands to and receive responses from the malware running there. This text is about the way Mallory applies cryptography to secure her messages.
deepserket··on Patriot Act on steroids: anti-TikTok Trojan horse for censorship, surveillance
TikTok is a threat to established socials so they lobbied to ban it.

The fact that is Chinese is a huge help thanks to the anti China sentiment being fueled for the past few years.

> function that takes the product name as input and spits out a password

Can someone infer the function starting from the password and the service name?

If yes, then there is a low (close to zero, unless you are specifically targeted) possibility to gain a clear password from a shitty website and calculate your other passwords.

deepserket··on TSMC downgraded as analysts warn of worst slump in a decade
impossible? i can buy a pi4 for just 200€ /s

Seriously the situation is quite sad, i was planning on building a couple dozen of machines and after discovering the new prices i was speechless, guess I'll try to make it work with an esp32 and offload the heavy computations to a dedicated PC

deepserket··on UC Berkeley: Cellphone radiation is harmful, but few want to believe it
By "nuke their reactions" you mean heating things up... Usually when there is more heat chemical reactions are faster (higher energy means higher chances for the right stuff to bump into each other)
deepserket··on How many robots does it take to run a grocery store? [video]
The problem that comes into my mind is that dispensers are tech, while bins are literally a bunch of plastic/cardboard/metal. But on the pros, your system is a FIFO queue, while the system in the video is LIFO, the latter is not good for goods with an expiry date.

I am currently working in a warehouse with 80k unique items, i am planning to automate the system (because currently it's using little to none automation, mainly because there is a conflict of interest) and a system of bins with the pickers/refilles zooming on the top is the best solution I've found so far.

I think that i will make the project open hardware/software.

deepserket··on Ransomware attack payments might be tax deductible, says US government
Strangely i haven't heard kidnappings with a payment in cryptocurrency.

That's order of magnitude easier than requesting paper money

deepserket··on Ransomware attack payments might be tax deductible, says US government
I am not able to understand what you are saying.

You could just stage a ransomware before a prolonged downtime (eg. phishing happy new year emails from an account with a leaked credentials in the source code that's accessible via website.com/.git) and hope that one of your employees will click on the attachment.

That would be quite easy IMHO

you can build a faraday box with some aluminum foil, 2-4 layers are enough (you can test it by trying to call the phone inside it, if it rings you need more layers).
