One problem I ran into was having Go Daddy when I registered my domain via Google Apps. Even though I unlocked the domain and got the auth code, because the way Google uses privacy, the transfer was rejected. Any advice there would be much appreciated.
Is this what the WSJ publishes to draw in weekend readers who are mostly unfamiliar with the tech space?
What's refreshing is that they're not asking for referrals, which can slow things down considerably and put the less networked entrepreneurs at a disadvantage.
The other poster said it right, consider your reasons for attending in the first place.
The final point that PG makes is investing in your own startup. If you have a solid team and execution skills, then by giving up on grad school and investing your youth and energy into your startup could yield better returns relative to "investing" later when the market is hot.
My take is I give the S&P two middle fingers up, WAY UP.
My thought is that I'm staring at a monitor more than 14 hours a day. It's like the tires on a car, where the rubber meets the road. It's such an important connecting between physical and the computer, that it's worth the additional investment.
That said, I can't make these judgments for you. I still recommend trying it out for a week if you can, and then decide if you're more productive with larger screen space. Good luck!
The bigger question is how and whether they will retain this lead, when local retailers and competitors get smarter about this space, and create better margins for themselves.
At the end of the day, the Wall Street traders will make the "proper" move and properly price it on its IPO day. How it will fare in the long run is still anybody's guess.
Hard to categorize a tool as useful if it has social network effects (needs critical mass).

And did the author actually mention MySpace as a potential destination for defecting FB users, without mentioning Google Plus?
