Managing a vault server sounds like a pain.
Under one state, Terraform will spot issues here during `plan`, but with many states issues will only appear after `apply`.
Ahh why?! Scala is FP larping as OOP. Great type system, poor syntax.
Unfortunately it's hard to convey the advantages to those who haven't used it. Maybe it's because it's such a simple bit of syntatic-sugar?
Just replace this:
x |> f
With this: f(x)
For the join example, you must do this: xs
|> (x => x.join(' '))
It de-sugars to: (x => x.join(' '))(xs)
... which of course is simply: xs.join(' ')> A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Hmmm I wonder about trolley problems
Why can't someone adapt Consider Phlebas? The book is already an action/adventure movie and the drones would make great merch :)
I also suggest Bazel as a consideration alongside Make. With Bazel, you get two advantages over Make:
1. It is easier to ensure that what GitHub Actions runs and builds is the same as what you have locally, since Bazel can fetch toolchains as part of the build process
2. Using a Bazel remote cache, you do not have to repeat work if the build fails halfway and you need to make some changes before running it again.
The purpose of this is two-fold:
1. Make it harder for future governments to reverse Brexit or reverse parts of Brexit
2. Make it harder for Scotland to leave the UK by making it harder for an independent Scotland rejoin the EU due to regulatory differences
China is even more controlling than the US.
London used to be the center of finance in Europe and now the EU sees an opportunity to grab that revenue / power.
Where does this leave London?
And the UK as a whole is heavily dependent on London.
The problem with this strategy is that the major trading blocks of USA, EU and China will not allow the UK to undercut them. So if the UK goes down this path, then companies based there will find themselves cut off. The UK domestic market is not large enough on its own.
The Conservatives should've stuck with May's compromise - now Labour are likely to take power.
Any good write-ups about this? Sounds like a very interesting time.
