And of course Paypal suffers from same problem as credit cards of chargeback and fraud
for merchant services MTgox is also first despite being barely used when compared to bitpay or coinbase
Remember it was mtgox who caused the last crash and have since continued to screw users while getting into all sorts of trouble in US for dodgy going ons
Now iam replying to this from a phone
Just saying technologies improve over time, bitcoin is a very interesting mix of technologies, probably the most exciting thing to come along since email, web, bittorent and social networks
I stopped reading there...
8 billion is a bit of a joke
Now if they owned their own equipment in their own datacenters...
Its websites coded by script kiddies such as inputs.io by an under 18 Australian who ignore security and then get hacked (or more likely do a runner with the coins themselves) once they get enough suckers to send them bitcoin
I started a long time ago in college with procedural see, moving onto JAVA and .NET and its OO cruft only to realise that instead of helping its slowing me down and come around full circle
in the long run (10 years) either bitcoin or bitcoinlike replacement is going to trash Paypal in same manner that Linux, android etc is trashing Microsoft now, yes Microsoft still make billions but bitcoin is growing rapidly, many people wrote off Linux years ago too for very similar sounding reasons.
Bitcoin (or bitcoinlike replacement) is the future and the most interesting thing to come out (Technologywise) since email, bittorent or social networks
Paypal are the scum of the scum, with the most clueless customer support, they act like a bank but are not a bank (well here in europe anyways) and hence not subject to same regulations and scrutiny (what little of those there are) so if something happens to your money with them (and its guaranteed they will screw you sooner or later) then you are f%&cked
so beware!
edit: those api docs are as clear as mud, no example on how to receive an SMS
