Zoning, maintenance and education to name some. Around me (dry, forested part of Spain) there are almost no fires, and I think part of that is because everyone here is taught how to handle something that could ignite it during those crucial months, usually when it happens it’s because people from outside the area have no real idea of the consequences BBQ’ing during this time of year
Blaming individuals when all the elements for a fire are already common place seems like we’re trying to blame someone when there is actually a systemic issue
I think you fail to realize how the profitability of this industry subsidizes a lot of issues that look to be crisises on their own. Plastics being too cheap to make so we don’t really do recycling or reducing to name one.
He could have removed himself, he’s not a random user but the CEO. I feel like that kinda removes the argument of ‘someone could have added him without his consent’.
I often wondered what could be the reason that triggers the “dead internet” theory. And muddying the information we can share freely means we cannot share freely anymore.
I think the historical context is there, but even then it's not that relevant. Achievements obtained in the past are not indicative of the future, and if you take the current social climate into context we have a right to be afraid.
How about we start actively taxing private companies that feel the need to make a quick buck over people backs? Especially without contributing any real value to society, and with society I don't mean the economy.
I bet if we had cow psychologists they might diagnose them with shock, living near pig farms my experience is a lot different. The stress of transportation, the smell of dead animals, these are so unnatural and without any possible escape what would you do?
