Order grows from less

dariopy··on Show HN: Guess the movie based on the AI generated poster
This looks like what androids dream of. No electric sheeps though.
dariopy··on Healthy California Act: proposal to make findings about single-payer healthcare
CA #1? What are you talking about? The state with the highest tax burden is NY. CA doesn't even make it to the top 10.

dariopy··on 10 Tricks to Appear Smart During Meetings
If you don't out them, it's still a win for them.
dariopy··on Coursera blocks access to students in Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria
Of course it depends on your "belief system". It's called morals. And what makes a certain set of moral rules superior to a certain other set? That's a centuries old question that will probably not be settled in this forum, but a good approach is the wideness of its adoption among the population. There's probably much more consensus on murder being wrong, than on providing free education being wrong.

But you're welcome to challenge both in the courts of justice and public opinion.

dariopy··on [dead]
Why is this on HN again?
dariopy··on If I use Facebook to login, don't you dare make me register
Yeap. Why of why do they do it anyway? Isn't it enough with what FB shares with them?
dariopy··on MOOCs for tech entrepreneurs
Do you seriously expect me to sign up to see your "content"? GTFO.
dariopy··on Modern History of the Middle East
So, it has come to this? Linking to Wikipedia?
dariopy··on Great at phone interviews, horrible at in-person interviews
How about you team with someone you get along, and start something on your own?
dariopy··on Digia releases Qt 5.2 with Android and iOS support
Does this mean we can create Android and iOS apps with Python (via e.g. PyQt)?
dariopy··on NSA tracking cellphone locations worldwide, Snowden documents show
Once again RMS is proven right, in all his paranoid delirium. Pretty sad is you ask me.
dariopy··on It's practically impossible for regular people to buy Bitcoin
What are you talking about? You can buy AND sell in coinbase.
dariopy··on It's practically impossible for regular people to buy Bitcoin
That's what coinbase is for. Pretty easy to register and get verified... if you happen to be in the US of A (or own a bank account there, anyway).
dariopy··on 0 A.D., an Open-Source Strategy Game
0 A.D. is in development, if memory serves well, since at least 10 years ago. Maybe more. I doubt it will ever be completed.
dariopy··on [dead]
Stupid complaint is stupid.

Nothing to see here people, move on.

dariopy··on Snowden granted 1-year asylum in Russia, leaves airport
Not odd at all. His options were either US-averse Latin American countries (Ecuador, Venezuela, Cuba) or China-Russia. And between those, he took maybe the safest, as said latin american countries may not be able to protect him if the US gov is truly determined to get him.
dariopy··on Huawei spying for Chinese govt, former CIA chief says
And Cisco spying for US Gov. As well as Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and what now. News at 11!
dariopy··on The declining value of the MS in Computer Science
MS in CS here. We all know we did it for the diploma: employers value that MS degree, so it gives you a better negotiating position in pretty much every hiring/selling scenario.
dariopy··on How I got robbed of 34 btc on Mt.Gox today
Like your regular XSRF, it relies on the user already being logged in some browser tab.

It probabley has a keylogger too.

dariopy··on How I got robbed of 34 btc on Mt.Gox today
Did you read the FA? It was clearly stated that 1. the transaction took place in MtGox, and 2. the rest of his bitcoins were safely encrypted in his hard disk.
dariopy··on How I got robbed of 34 btc on Mt.Gox today
Maybe I'm missing something something, but where exactly is the exploit here? (0-day no less)

AFAIU, the user was prompted to accept an autosigned applet, and he did so. After that, the outcome was inevitable. You may hate java all you like, but it seems like the user (inadvertently) gave this program permission to steal all his money.

dariopy··on Joining Stripe
I'm sorry but last time I checked, Mockingbird development is all but stalled since the founders got hired by Stripe. Which is a shame, given how a great product it was.

Since you're probably gonna see them around, please ask them: why don't they just hire an employee to do actual work for Mockingbird? Thanks!

dariopy··on Nordic countries are reinventing their model of capitalism
Nope, that would be us, Latin American countries :-D

http://americablog.com/2012/12/poll-latin-americans-the-happ...

Not sure why though.

dariopy··on Why we've decided to stop producing TNW Magazine for Android
Then how would they bundle all sort of crap-spyware to their "content"?
dariopy··on You won't believe what really happens in the TSA image viewing private room
One does not simply submit old news to HN. ESPECIALLY if it was on slashdot two weeks ago: http://news.slashdot.org/story/12/12/20/2032214/taking-sense...

"Fox has figured out that by simply putting a question mark at the end of something, you can say fking anything."

Still effective.
