danishkhan··on Looking for a Job? Learn Ruby, Python and be a Team Player (infographic)
Interesting information. I am curious if they can tell whether this will be the same over time or if things such as Node.js and other languages will take over.

I figure being a team player will probably never change.

danishkhan··on A few quick thoughts on email, office, and intro etiquette
Completely agree. All companies should adopt etiquettes like these.
danishkhan··on Appify-UI - Create the simplest possible Mac OS X apps, using HTML5 for the UI
This is really cool. I've been wanting to mess around with HTML5 for a mac app
danishkhan··on The Golden Age of Design in Startups
I would agree that in recent years designers are becoming a lot more important and having a good designer as part of your team is probably more important than having the right business guy or sales guy in the beginning. I'm not sure if I would say that it is the Golden Age of Design though. Developers are still a little more important than designers I would believe at least at the early stage of a company.
danishkhan··on Show HN: "Programming is for Anyone"
This is a great book. There are so many good programming books out there, but I like the approach this one takes.
danishkhan··on Fuck passwords
Lastpass is awesome and even with google authenticator if you do not have your phone with you they give you the option of printing out like 30 one-off codes in case of situations where your phone is dead or missing.
danishkhan··on Ordered List is a GitHubber
Really looking forward to all the awesome integration between GitHub and the Ordered List products.
danishkhan··on Blogging: The Hacker Way
Octopress is a project that uses Jekyll, but adds a lot more features that make it even easier to use as a blogging framework.

danishkhan··on SSH Tricks
man this was an awesome find for me. thank you.
danishkhan··on ITerm2 1.0 Released
I agree. I was a bash user for the longest time and iterm2 with oh-my-zsh is the best thing ever.
danishkhan··on The Github Follower Problem
Awesome!! Going to install this right now.
danishkhan··on Securing a Rails App against Firesheep with HTTPS
What if you used something like the EnforceSSL Rack Middleware with a Rails application. I feel like that would be a little more useful.
danishkhan··on Rails for Zombies - Learn Rails from the comfort of your browser
Man, I thought ruby koans and hacketyhack were amazing interactive tools. This is amazing and a lot of fun too.
danishkhan··on Resources for Getting Started with Ruby on Rails
Updated the post to include suggestions by commenters on the blog, HN, and twitter.
danishkhan··on Resources for Getting Started with Ruby on Rails
I have updated the post to have the base url for all the resources. My apologizes to the creators of those resources. My intentions were never to take away from your PageRanks.

Also, I will be adding resources recommended by people in the comments on the post, HN, and Reddit shortly. So if you have any you want added let me know soon.

danishkhan··on Resources for Getting Started with Ruby on Rails
I updated the post so that you know where the links are taking you.
danishkhan··on Resources for Getting Started with Ruby on Rails
haha, yea RVM is an amazing tool. I'm working on creating a tutorial for setting up your local machine to have it ready to start working on RoR. I just need to do a little more research about the best ways to do it for Windows since that is an OS I'm not to familiar with.
danishkhan··on Resources for Getting Started with Ruby on Rails
Yea, I realize that know. I think I'm going to add the urls next to the links so people know where they are going.
danishkhan··on New: Distributed Open House the day after Startup School
alright, cool. I live in SF so I'll probably visit some of the SF ones, but I was just curious.
danishkhan··on New: Distributed Open House the day after Startup School
Awesome! Will there be some kind of transportation between some of the startups? I recall at last years startup school there were buses between the after parties in SF that were held at the different startups. I'm curious if such a thing will occur for visiting the multiple startups in SF or Pal Alto on Sunday.
danishkhan··on Innovation Nation: WePay is the anti-PayPal
The anti in anti-matter = of the same kind but situated opposite whereas anti-globalization = being against.
danishkhan··on Ask HN: Did Apple create Ping to eventually compete with Facebook?
I would say Apple is trying to compete more with last.fm and maybe even myspace. A lot of musicians use myspace as their social networking to communicate with their fans. I can easily see Ping being used for the same purpose and being tied into iTunes will help out the musicians a lot.
danishkhan··on 15 tips every computer geek should know to stay healthy
No problem.

It's hard to be disciplined when your really into the code so having something to trigger you to take a break is very useful.

danishkhan··on Just launched: http://talkMiner.com
The site is sweet. I really enjoy finding videos and searching through google is a pain. I can see this website be extremely useful. If you ever need any help with testing let me know.

I would definitely say once you get the core functionality done to work on some UI changes, which would really help out the look and feel.

danishkhan··on Ask HN: How to avoid double-post in HN?
Also, I believe if you submit the exact same link as something that is already posted it normally takes you to the article if it's up on HN already.

You would mostly run into a problem if you are submitting a blog post that is talking about something that is already on HN.

danishkhan··on 15 tips every computer geek should know to stay healthy
Great article. I have been trying to implement a lot of those points that you make.

If you really need to try and drink something other than water I would recommend Apple juice. It's really the only thing you can find that is 100% pure all the time. Even OJ isn't something especial if it's from MinuteMaid.

For taking breaks I would recommend a few applications a computer geek can download.

Mac OSX: TimeOut: http://www.dejal.com/timeout/, AntiRSI: http://tech.inhelsinki.nl/antirsi/

Linux: Workrave: sudo apt-get install workrave or http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/workrave/

Windows: Workrave works for windows as well, Bigstretch: http://www.monkeymatt.com/bigstretch/

danishkhan··on Because Spain won, jQuery: Novice to Ninja is free for 24 hours
this is awesome. can't wait to read it!
danishkhan··on Project: Glyph - H3RALD
nice! i will look into that.
danishkhan··on Sleep Blaster for iPhone wakes you up when you reach your destination
yea, I like the fact that you can yell at it to turn it off.
