danielovichdk··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (October 2026)
Did you ask the Gemini team ?
danielovichdk··on The last time my family was replaced by technology
The mechanic analogy is rather useful. Today a mechanic is in a more squeezed space than we are, having to learn EVs and electronics, or accept to go out of business within the next 10 years.

Having worked with a few combustion engines I have no clue about how to repair an EV.

A fine example of how new technology is not better, since it closes the door on too many people.

danielovichdk··on Ray Ozzie and the Optimism of Being Early
Ray was, and probably stille is, a great architect and programmer.

He made us younger Microsoft employees feel like there was room for technical people in the top of the company.

Microsoft was actually always good at that. They know how to treat their people right

danielovichdk··on Two parallel neural ectoderm progenitors contribute to the developing brain
AI is not a brain, now pay me.
danielovichdk··on Did Trump Permanently Damage U.S.–Canada Relations? [video]
I believe Trump permanently damaged both European and Canadian relations a long time ago.

And I also believe both Canada and Europe are working in the covers to distance themselves more or less permanently from USA.

It's not Trump per se. It's the reality that the Americans has fostered a system, and a society and culture that is just way off from what seems healthy by any means.

danielovichdk··on We must pace the frontier
Too late. See you on the dark side where i kick your ass. Fucker
danielovichdk··on CPAN Uploads Are Up 50% Year-over-Year
AI;DR
danielovichdk··on What my dad taught me about AI coding in the 90s
You learn a lot more by reading code than writing it.

So reading the output i believe is an immensely big gift by an LLM, because if you actually take note - and of course know your skills - then ot becomes such a great pal to work with.

I like reading what the LMM gives me, not always, but a lot of times.

danielovichdk··on Ask HN: Why are Claude models so verbose?
Because models that chat to themselves generate more tokens, hence more money is spent.

Easy

danielovichdk··on OpenAI Jalapeño: Better than Nvidia Blackwell
I guess special hardware is the new moat in AI.

Maybe the money will still flow into this industry after all

danielovichdk··on Coding expertise is going to collapse from AI reliance
Would you work for less money and use AI ? Or would you step out - professionally - of the industry and program for passion and fun ?

I think that is a question we are all mulling about these years.

Our expertise has been packaged into a 200$ product and the competition has become ourselves.

danielovichdk··on How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs
Yes, and that's a whole different problem, which in itself does not equal stupid shit.

The reason the price for parcels from China is going up in Europe is not shipping chips or component, it's from shipping stupid fucking shit people do not need, from e.g Temu and copied goods such as clothing, shoes and what not.

The toll offices in the airports are being drowned in cheap crap. Shut it down by making people pay more for the shit they buy. That will of course hurt everyone else, but that is how it works.

danielovichdk··on How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs
It should be much higher.

The amount of shit that gets shipped from China to Europe (world) is fucking ludicrous, and people should be taxed heavily for the stupid shit they often don't need.

danielovichdk··on US debt tops $40T as Treasury doubles bond buybacks to calm markets
It really seems the US is done.
danielovichdk··on AI is removing the middle class of software engineering
"You can't afford bad engineers anymore"

You never could.

danielovichdk··on Farmers spreading crushed glass on their crops
Tell me more, serious question, how is glass turned into silicon ?
danielovichdk··on DHH Advocates for "Remigration"
I think I understand why David went home to Denmark. You can hear it in him. His moaning and liberal bitching.

Like a true fucking yankee.

What a sellout.

danielovichdk··on US holds off blacklisting DeepSeek, more than 100 firms deemed security risks
This is purely politics and the only way to get back the trillions of dollars, Americans has invested in AI.

US government will point to Chinese models and companies, saying it is a risk - just as the west did with Huawei - making it a none choice for brainless corporate people to choose what the choir preach.

Pure politics

danielovichdk··on Why SpaceX 2040 Revenue FCST $4.3T in highly unlikely
I think the US is in such a fucked up place economically, that the stock market is so overheated and will cause grave inflation, but it's the only lever left to pull for the government, that it will cause havoc within the next 10 years.

SpaceX or any of AI companies for that matter is absolutely not worth their money, but they will be carried through by government legislation, because otherwise the economy will be fucked for the US.

SpaceX ... 4.3 trillion...what the fuck are you on about

danielovichdk··on I'm Eric Ries, author of "The Lean Startup" and new book "Incorruptible" – AMA
"The people that start "tech" companies are often soulless and maladapted to society, having hid behind computers to escape their inability to deal with the real world".

Yes. Of course.

You cannot trust anyone to have a rounded mind unless they have actually done more than one thing, broadly speaking.

Having worked at one of these companies, I don't buy for one second, that these companies are not obsessed with financial benefit. You would be an absolute idiot to believe that.

danielovichdk··on Nvidia is proposing a beast of a CPU system for Windows PCs
A hardware company that propose to buy more hardware from them.

Must be a new business model.

....

Step into my office

Why ?

Because you are fucking fired

danielovichdk··on Benchmarks in Leipzig
Hypezig

The new Berlin

danielovichdk··on S&P 500 rejects SpaceX, also blocking entry for OpenAI and Anthropic
Stocks and money. It's so boring.

I will go drive my old German car now, and get a bit drunk in a bottle of Nebbiolo while listening to some French lunatic with a piano.

Enjoy your trip to Mars and your self driving toy cars. The world is off its rails. Bit time.

danielovichdk··on Ferrari Luce
Don't worry. This is being laughed at in the factories in maranello.

But Ferrari has an obligation to the populistic world too, trying to wheel in customers for an EV end ending up selling them a real car with a V8-12 engine.

Looks terrible. But they know it.

danielovichdk··on Does Employment Slow Cognitive Decline? Evidence from Labor Market Shocks
I think better when I have been off work for 4 weeks and beyond. My mind is dancing into new and glorious places, not being caught or dumbed down by idiotic automative repetitions, inhumane and corporate politics so dumb, walled-off-elite and cargo-cult like that no one can ever convince me that humans in an office space has decreased declining cognitive abilities.

People in the workforce are dumber than people outside, no doubt.

danielovichdk··on Google has the same AI adoption curve as John Deere
20 years at Google and this is the shit he's relaying. Fire his ass.
danielovichdk··on OpenCode – Open source AI coding agent
Generative what? Code is not a thing anymore, in fact it never really was, but now it's definitely not.

Code today can be as verbose and ugly as ever, because from here on out, fewer people are going to read it, understand and care about it.

What's valuable, and you know this I think, is how much money your software will sell for, not how fine and polished your code is.

Code was a liability. Today it's a liability that cost much much less.

danielovichdk··on Qatar helium shutdown puts chip supply chain on a two-week clock
Who cares about chips ?

These fucking yankee and zionist morons just keep pushing it.

Go Iran

danielovichdk··on Nvidia and OpenAI abandon unfinished $100B deal in favour of $30B investment
Idiots, this is a splendid example of circular economy.

OpenAi gets 30b, buys chips from nvidia for 30b.

How is that an investment?

danielovichdk··on The path to ubiquitous AI (17k tokens/sec)
Is this hardware for sale ? The site doesn't say.
