Have loved every Civ since 1 but it seems theres certain fetures that they'll never change/improve like battles and wonders. I also thought the graphics in 6 were a backwards step and the world council too much of a break in the flow.

Lately I've been playing Humankind and really enjoying it. You have epic battles involving land, air and sea units. You choose a wonder and have to finish it before choosing another.

You also need to live somewhere where there are sperm banks. Lots of countries don't have them.

I don't think any philosophy is comprehensive enough to include all of mathematics and any partially complete choice is going to be subjective. You could even replace math with "x" and come to the same conclusion.

It doesn't feel like a recession but something is wrong. Our "go hard, go early" approach to covid meant we avoided a lot of tragedy but the govt printed that money. Now we're having an inflation shock leading to an interest rate shock. The shrinkflation is insidious when the packaging hasn't changed. The thing is, unemployment is so low, it's like the whole country is running to stand still.

When I was a kid we had 2 clocks and they had to be changed manually. Now we have clocks everywhere and some change by themselves and some dont.

I think the whole world should be on one timezone all the time. The numbers are artificial anyway we may as well all use the same ones at the same time.

And why not change those numbers alltogether. I think we should use "degrees". 1 degree = 4 minutes.

47M. Have been having nightmares about the last year of highschool for about 20 years. TIL other people do too. I think its due to the anxiety felt at that time without the adult ability to recognise that anxiety. This was 1992 in New Zealand. You did 5 subjects (some did 6). At the end of the year you did a 3 hour exam and the percentages were scaled at the national level and added up. 300 was an 'A', 250 was a 'B' and 150 was a 'C'. Anything less and you didnt pass high school although everyone can still graduate and leave, some just did another year. So, I'm walking around school. I dont know what class I should be in, I've completely missed subjects all year. I dont know when the exams are and I dont have text books. In reality I passed all 5, total 351 and over %80 for calculus needed for Math 104. Fast forward 4 years to honours math at uni and all my worst fears are true. Went to uni at midnight to see the results board honestly not knowing if I got honours (I'd still have a B.Sc). Passed, B.A.Hons 2nd class.

This may be a stupid question but what happens when two users update data in the same block? Also, does every update send an entire block over the wire?

I'm not so sure, living paycheck to paycheck doesn't mean you have no discretionary spending at all. Maybe you have $500 a month for one off expenses and you already used up this months on a laptop for you kid at school or something.

But seriously, I wonder if the "clump of human brain cells" gets tired or needs to sleep or, need any other nourishment. The COHBC might learn faster but can it then keep playing at the same level 24/7?

I agree. I'm not against entrepreneurship per se but this industry suffers from a special breed of entremanures. It seems each new generation has a subset with a misplaced enthusiasm for Randism. If you have put yourself through a degree in computer science then you've already sacrificed time and income. Now make sure you get paid a fair amount for every hour worked. Why risk getting Zyngered when you can pay off your mortgage, read books to your kids and have a beer with your wife.
