Ex-engineer turned marketer.
Contact me at dalys@chokladboll.se I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
According to Wolfram Alpha that is:
Single-spaced document: 1500 pages
Double-spaced document: 3000 pages
Book: 1028 pages
So around 1-5 books.
I'm assuming they're using OpenAI's tiktoken tokenizer. (??)
Idea one: Captchas are to become pretty useless as a "is this a human" tactic soon. Maybe it already is, I don't know. What other things could we think off to prove someone is human? I was watching Lex Fridman and Max Tegmark and they were remarking on how Twitter using payment as a differentiator between human and bot is actually really good. And maybe the only way we can reliably determine if someone is a human or not right now. Just by the virtue that having thousands of bots doing something, that suddenly costs $5 per event will deter most attacks. Integrating online identification systems from various countries could be one tactic (such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BankID that we use in Sweden to log in to basically any online service). New startup: Un-botable authentication as a service.
Idea two: Since captchas are useless, we'll be able to do bots that can do almost everything on the web. No need for writing automation scripts, headless browsers, regexp etc. Just feed real visual data from browser to GPT-4 (or MiniGPT-4 or similar). Give instructions like "You need to accomplish this task: Go to facebook.com and create a user account and be friends with 100 people and act like a human. Follow the instructions on the website.". Then let the bot figure out where to move the mouse and send click events, keyboard events etc. Obviously much slower than a scripted bot, but would be very hard to detect as a bot. Good for E2E testing also? New startup: WebGPT: Bots that can do any task on any website. TestGPT: E2E testing service. Just write test instructions like "Make sure the login works on /login" and you're done! And you thought flaky tests were a thing of the past... Would be kind of cool for UX testing also. "You are a 43 year old truck driver in Spain, please go to news.ycombinator.com and see how easy it is for you to register an account, log in, go to any news story and make a new comment. Report anything you think is confusing."
I used to also love piste maps as a kid, and still go skiing a few times per year. One of the best activities I know. Outdoor, exercise and spectacular views for a whole day. What a dream!
I think for a brand that does as simple and cheap cars as possible there's Dacia. They have the electric Dacia Spring which is also a small car. It does have a touch screen though. Only available in some select European countries.
Edit: Actually, the touch screen in the Spring is only the "Plus" version, so you can be touch-screen free! :) But the Plus version also has DC fast charging, so you probably want that anyway.
Because you know, HN is a marketing site for companies in Y Combinator and Y Combinator itself.
Every landing page you have ever visited is marketing.
Every GitHub README.md is marketing.
There's not a single business in the history of mankind that have made money without marketing. Because they wouldn't be allowed to show or tell anyone they existed.
I would just target "Surfboard (sporting goods)", "Surfing (water sport)" and similar and then let the FB algorithm do it's magic. I.e. create a very broad targeting for your ad and then let the ad run for a while and get results, and those results will let FB automatically fine tune the targeting for you. It costs some money but it will probably be better in the end. Unofficial rumours says you need around 50 conversion events on ad for the ad to be fully "trained", which can mean a couple of hundred dollars.
Remember the targets you add have a OR function between them, unless you use the "Narrow audience" button in the targeting.
If you really want to narrow down you could do "Surfing (water sport)" and narrow the audience and find some interest that is AND <insert teaching-related interest targeting>. People that work as surf school teachers could possibly have been identified by FB with some kind of teaching-interest.
Step 1. Get a huge email list
Step 2. Grep that email list for peter
Step 3. Do a custom audience in FB and run a Peter t-shirt campaign
I don't know any other way to do anything "dynamic" in Facebook Ads. And FB doesn't really like that advertisers creep out their audience, even though they can. I assume it's the reason behind their policy that you can't call out personal attributes. E.g. you can't say "Hey hetereosexual white person! Click here", but you have to write it as "Here's a fun website for hetereosexual white people".
I just double checked the policies and using a first name in the ad is actually not allowed, BUT I think you can get around that by having a general ad like "Cool name t-shirts" and then the image happens to have "Peter" printed on the t-shirt.

1: Drench yourself in water.
2: Use soap where you have apocrine sweat glands ONLY, i.e. groin and arm pits.
3: Rinse soap.
4: Rinse hair and massage with your hands simultaneously.
5: Done.
I used to cover my whole body and soap carefully and rinse it off, but after realizing the foul smelling sweat glands only are in the groin and arm pit area, I realized it's unnecessary.
What about shampooing the air? I don't. I usually only do it before going to the hair dresser, once every two months or so. Does it get super oily? No, you can train your hair not be, if you don't shampoo. Here's how (for people ok with short hair). Just do it after cutting your hair really short. Stop shampooing and instead just rinse it really good. After the shower it's important to rub the hair with a towel really good though. It's much easier with short hair. You can also train long hair by just extending the period between shampoos slowly, there's a ton of YouTube videos about it.
Increase landing page conversion, write sales letters, customer acquisition, improve your sales funnel.
Ideal customer is SaaS business that is profitable but looking to increase sales and have no idea how to do marketing themselves. If you already have a staff of 13 marketers you probably don't need me.
My hourly rate is 0. Only charge per results.

Random idea: Maybe sell integration building as well? Instead of just being able to request a integration. For example, if I would want to run this as a marketer and self host (for whatever reason), I would need integrations such as Facebook Lead Ads, TikTok Lead Ads, Gmail, etcetera. But instead of requesting them being built, I can imagine some people would rather pay $1000 to have them built _guaranteed_ within let's say 1 month. Because if there's some integration missing that is essential for my business, requesting and waiting 12 months until it's _maybe_ build is probably not an option. At least mentioning this service on the landing page and docs will cost 5 minutes of your time and maybe get some business. :)
Iyi sanslar!
Obviously there's a really good economic incentive to work on labor replacing robots of any kind, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of startups in this space in the next 5-10 years.
I am actually a little bit surprised on why we are not seeing more kitchen robots in restaurants. Ten robots flipping burgers and assembling them and one 18 year old to hit the emergency break every now and then to remove the mustard stain on the depth camera of robot #4. (Actually robot restaurants probably wouldn't have humanoid bots, but look more like an industrial food assembly lines that served the food on plates instead of cartons that get deep frozen at the end.)
I now have a photo of myself made with one of these make-yourself-old online apps. I printed it out and have it on my desk. I glance at it every now and then when I have a hard action to do. How would 55 year old dalys behave in this situation? What kind of person do I want to become in 20 years?
Plus it freaks out my mom whenever she visits.

Correct me if Im wrong. Its really hard to understand how EU works, even for us on the inside.
Most TV shows and movies have sex scenes. The people having sex are always very average looking. Sex scenes are usually not sexy or romantic but just chaotic and awkward, and very every-day-lifey. Like a middle aged couple having sex in the bedroom and their 5 year old kid opens the door and one of them is chocked and falls out of the bed and breaks a finger. They have to drive to the emergency room and so on, and next scene they enjoy a meal together at home in complete and awkward silence. And a finger in a cast is there as a reminder of the incident.
This could be a scene in any TV show airing at 20.00 on public service TV. There's also a lot of nudity without it being sexualized. Like people in saunas or women breastfeeding. Normal every day stuff.
For examples check out Love & Anarchy on Netflix, great show with only one short season. Or Bonus Family also on Netflix.
Sex education is also a thing. You are taught that of course you should have sex because it's great and fun etc. and here's how to do it safely. Oh and now class, we are going to watch a 1 hour long sex tape with two normal people having sex in a loving way. That was an awkward class to attend. And next class, practicing putting on condoms on dildos, so we all know how to do it. Imagine being 13 and sitting next to some cute girl in your class and having to practice putting on condoms!
Compared to other parts of the world where sex and nudity is banned and censored, which is of course ridiculous if you want sexually healthy citizens. If you can only see sex through porn, with smoking hot models, I'm sure it messes with your young mind.
$1.5k / month was my total cost of living as single! That was owning my own condo with 15 minutes bike ride to Stockholm city center. The rest I mostly used for vacation trips and did 4-5 (one week each) every year. No need to save for unexpected health care bills, your unborned kids college education, grandmas retirement home, that car you need to buy to commute 1 hour to your job etc.
That 3x salary comes with a really high price! In reality I would probably not make more than 120k / year in the US though. With that said, I can understand that some people really enjoy spending most of their lives working for the man, and getting a high salary and skipping out on vacations and work life balance. But not for me.
I have done Fjällräven Classic in Sweden two times and Hong Kong once and love it.
But as soon as you you get to other cities it’s less fun. As a person that likes to jog in the morning I had stop and turn around and slowly walk away too many times. Some angry, mentally unstable, dog would block the way. Sometimes they chase you. I have seen other runners being chased and bitten by dogs. Especially in the morning they get aggressive. I have also seen packs of dogs attacking normal dogs in leaches. Of course they also carry rabies.
According to my wife stray dogs were not so common when she was young, but the population has exploded since then. She and her mother also dislikes them.
It doesn’t help that there is almost no one working on the problem. I know Istanbul has some organisation that will vaccinate and neuter stray dogs. Otherwise locals seems to have some twisted sense of animal wellfare going where they believe putting a domesticated dog on the street is an ok thing to do, since other locals will take care of it. Never mind they get malnourished, get aggressive and are obviously completely unstable mentally. A broken leg, an infected wound? Who cares, as long as they can roam around free and multiply as much as they want.
I have no idea how this became the norm but I really hope it will change!
