That's just how humans are.
In my opinion (and observation), the majority of the population worldwide wants a boat. Whether it's attainable or socially acceptable depends on where you live. In America it is attainable and mostly socially acceptable. You can't fault people for grabbing their dream when it's within reach. Most immigrants want to move to the US because they can "buy a boat". It's literally the point.
People really really love meat. They don't need much persuasion to resist any message that says what they love is bad. Like, people love meat so much that it's probably something our bodies want and need over other forms of sustenance.
I'm not sure why so many people think that there's an effective brainwashing campaign behind all of this. I think it's just what individual, free thinking people want.
This is quite a leap, and you're giving people too much credit for "consumption as a guiding principle".
Most people just have extra income and are bombarded with messages about how something will make their lives better. They try it out. They're stuck with it.
Whether people do, or not, is a different question.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if there are any good articles/documentaries/exposés on reddit moderators? I really just want to know what one is like.
Apple has already "committed" to investing in US manufacturing. Also, many companies have committed to AI investments on US soil which would be heavily NVIDIA dependent. Could be a justification for the exemption.
IMO both approaches should have been more measured, but who do you think will propose the ceasefire agreement?
I think this is one of the most profound statements I've read all year. Perfectly sums up all the quiet backlash by middle America against the trolls that have pulled the party into extremes.
It's not that they're bad people, they just get over excited and nobody wants to deal with the headache right now.
I see it at work in the lunch room conversations where someone starts spewing passive aggressive hate and it really kills the vibe.
Well, that's the beauty of the system. You can go and be the change you want to see in the world.
The U.S. is actually trying a play from the same playbook by abstaining from deploying troops.
When was the last time you saw China getting torn apart in the media for failing to prop up a failed state? They're doing "greenfield" diplomacy without historical baggage.
Or do you think that government should shrink their responsibilities and everyone should watch out for their own kids?
What powerful force do you think caused over half the people you know to be so misguided?

A premium 3rd row vehicle that's not a GM/Tahoe with those stupid reverse lights? My kids school is full of these. Seems to me like plenty of people were asking for them.
