Best way around the paywall on WSJ?
cynthiaherald··on GM to launch self-driving Lyft fleet in Austin, Texas
Wonder how all the Lyft drivers feel about this news
cynthiaherald··on 'The Icarus Deception' By Seth Godin [video]
His use of Kickstarter was pretty interesting in this case. I think he funded the book in 2 hours and now is funded 10X what he was looking for. He proved demand before anything else, minimizing the blind risk for the publisher. Given the state of the book publishing industry, he could have created a new model for future authors/publishers.
cynthiaherald··on How I Got (and Why I Quit) the Best Job In the World
Interesting blog post. I enjoy reading the personal stories of people that land great gigs with great start ups, but ultimately battle whether to work with a great start up or go out and do their own thing. Would love to hear more of these type of stories and how people decide what to do...
cynthiaherald··on How Hipster Are You? test
This is a hilarious test! If you or a friend drinks too much PBR, take a few minutes and check this out.
cynthiaherald··on SIRC Guide to Flirting: what social science tells you about flirting
Its rather mroe introductory but it's still an interesting and informative read. Defintiely something to print out and read when bored or give to a younger brother or any young person entering high school or college. Wish I had this when I was beggining my college days.
cynthiaherald··on How 30 days without social media changed my life
Facebook, like most other social media platforms, are tools. You can use tools to benefit or enhance your life or you can use it to destroy or negatively affect your life. Money is a tool, for example.

Other than that though, this was a great article and I'd be interested to start a similar experiment. I do think you if you are more purposeful with social media, you can still be as productive and do cool things like the writer did.

cynthiaherald··on Letter from Ronald Reagan to his son
If you think about it, it may be much harder to do so in a hand written letter too....compared to typing 75 words per minutes. Writing is slower, makes you more purposeful with every word, etc.
cynthiaherald··on The 501 Productivity: Bolting Out The Door At 5:01 PM
Well-defined goals are key to actually getting quality work done for the day.
cynthiaherald··on The Power of Small Wins
Loved this post....cool John Wooden quote: “Don’t look for the big, quick improvement. Seek the small improvement one day at a time. That’s the only way it happens – and when it happens, it lasts.”

Focusing on small wins is a great strategy. Easier to build consistency...and like it takes money to make money, it takes success to make more success.

cynthiaherald··on I have no idea what I'm doing
Reminds me of a theme that many historical icons embodied....a sense of self-education. But on a daily basis.

Ben Franklin was a self taught printer, scientist, etc...who went on to become world-renowned for each profession. He had no formal education or schooling either.

cynthiaherald··on 9 Timeless Business Virtues from a 19th Century Self-Made Millionaire
Loved this quote: “Mind your own business; own your own business and run your own business.”
cynthiaherald··on Google on track to outspend banks, big tobacco in lobbying
It will definitely be interesting to monitor how Google will continue outspending on lobbying....for good and bad of internet, free speech, etc
cynthiaherald··on Taxes Prompt More Americans to Renounce Citizenship
What countries would you recommend your clients to go to?
cynthiaherald··on Taxes Prompt More Americans to Renounce Citizenship
This sounds horrible......
cynthiaherald··on What the Failed $1M Netflix Prize Says About Business Advice
I think he's talking about 'best selling authors or bloggers'. The author pokes fun at big blogger's opinions that congratulates or praises netflix's crowdsourcing contest....because it validates their own books and makes them look smart or sound right. (wikinomics, freakonomics, jarvis..)
cynthiaherald··on Tupac's Coachella 'performance' explained
I read an article that it cost between $100-400k for the hologram...
