currio··on Say farewell to the AI bubble, and get ready for the crash
Crashes also happen when there is a huge mismatch between price and value.
currio··on Berkshire halves Apple stake, boosts cash to $277B as it gets 'defensive'
What you said (if true) makes Apple a great business. And your reasonable arguments make a good case for that.

But does it make a good investment? A good investment is investing in a great business at a reasonable price. If the price is unreasonably high, then even a great business makes for a bad investment.

currio··on ARK's price target for Tesla (2021)
It is interesting to evaluate predictions few years after they are made.
currio··on Google Adsense is transitioning to per-impression payments for publishers
It could be because of number of ads shown per query. As number of competing ads goes up CTR goes down.

135k for single income and 200k if you are jointly filing?

currio··on Harvard Study: CBD May Significantly Reduce Anxiety with Minimal Side Effects
Link to the actual study page on nih. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36352103/

Relveant summary:

"Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found within the Cannabis sativa plant. Previous studies suggest CBD may reduce anxiety. In this clinical trial, 14 patients with anxiety were treated for four-weeks with a cannabis-derived study product with high levels of CBD, administered under their tongue 3 times each day. All patients knew that they were being given CBD. Following four weeks of treatment, patients reported reduced anxiety as well as improvements in mood, sleep, quality of life, and measures reflecting their self-control and ability to think flexibly. Patients did not experience any serious negative effects during the trial. The impact of this product is now being evaluated in more patients with anxiety."

Topics of conversation are usually different in real life. They are mundane and rarely controversial.

Online conversation topics frequently lead to heated opinions.

currio··on The Berkshire Hathaway of the Internet (2017)
+1. Warren and charlie also say that they would rather buy good businesses at fair price than fair businesses (or cash strapped ones or ones about to go bankrupt. I know thats not what fair means) at good price.

currio··on AMD Q1 2021 – Revenue up 93% YoY (Data center segment up 286% YoY)
Agreed. Semi custom dropped by single digit. So data center grew by approximately ~286%
currio··on Autopilot CEOs
I think a Autopilot CEO is fine (I guess). My main point is if you are a autopilot CEO then your pay should reflect that. As a Autopilot CEO you shouldn't be earning X10 (or X100) million dollars.
currio··on Error-riddled data sets are warping our sense of how good AI is
I think other result from the article (and paper it links to) is with more accurate data simpler models perform better than complicated models.

This is a good observation because as the saying as "Garbage in garbage out" or "Model is only as good as data". It is better to focus on better data than spending time or improving models or overfitting complicated models to inaccurate data
