csaba··on Want to work on a profitable side project
Can you give us some info first? For example: how do you plan to select who is in, and who is not? Will there be any contract or something? Is it a problem if I'm not fluent english speaker?
csaba··on Want to work on a profitable side project
And how can anyone reach you?
csaba··on How not to loose motivation about a side project?
Put it out into the wild as soon as possible, and get some users/customers. Then there always be some rush, that keeps you motivated.
csaba··on Ask HN : Is the world out of good domain names?
No, I don't think so. Google is clever enough to recognize your title tag along with your domain name. Of course it is little harder to be the first result for a search, but that's because new domains tend to be that way. And if you make enough money you can always buy the .com counterparts.
csaba··on Ask HN : Is the world out of good domain names?
I think for english speakers the .rs suffix can be interesting (e.g. love.rs - already taken, but hey). In my opinion uncommon domain names are ok, because nowdays you don't have to remember the full domain name to find the site what you are looking for.

What programming language do you use? Your website seems to use ASP, and that is not the best (IMHO) for MVPing my ideas, for example.
csaba··on Green Sock JavaScript Animation Platform vs CSS3 Transitions.
What about this for hardware acceleration in css: http://davidwalsh.name/translate3d ? I don't know if zepto uses it, or not.
csaba··on Ask HN: Is there a Github clone that I can run on my own server?

csaba··on Show HN: an alternative to AdSense
In Hungary ember means people. :) So this is ads for the people.
csaba··on Login Screen – behind the scenes
Add .rs too. :)
csaba··on Pixel art stickers
I tried this out. I think it is really good idea, but really bad implementation. I wanted to draw something, and save it. But I had to login first. If you log in, you lost your drawing. Then I redraw it from scratch, then clicked on the save, and the server went down, so again, lost everything. Sometimes the cursor draws without any click, and ruins all your previous work, and you can't turn it off (maybe a bug). Then I tried other way. What if I just draw a small part, and save it? Before save it automatically cropped my pic for best fit (if you resize your drawing area, you lost everything).

So, for about the tenth time, I finally finished my "nyan cat", and published it, to see what's gonna happen? Some time after, I got an email, that they refused to publish it, and gave me some bullsh*t (one or more of the following) reasons. So one, or more? Why don't they tell me specifically? And some of the reasons were hurtful for someone, who tried so hard to finish something.

Anyway... As I sad before, I like the idea, but the implementation is pretty flawed, and painfully slow.

csaba··on Face detection for cats in JavaScript
Yeah, with local images it works fine.
csaba··on Face detection for cats in JavaScript
Windows 8, chrome 22, opera next, opera 12.02, firefox 15. Hmm, actually in ie 10 it's doing it's stuff.
csaba··on Face detection for cats in JavaScript
This is not working for me, with the test images (or any other image). :\ Edit: Cannot read property 'type' of undefined. Demo.js:64
csaba··on Minimal Ring Alarm Clock for Couples
Sh*t up, and take my money! Why this is not a real product? "Concept award 2008"?
csaba··on Vanilla JS, fast, lightweight, cross-platform framework
There is an error in the Readme. It begins with "Vapor.js is a much more...". Should be "Function.js is...".
csaba··on Vanilla JS, fast, lightweight, cross-platform framework
I don't know... It has no tests, no generators, no ports. Not that realiable to me. :)
csaba··on Vanilla JS, fast, lightweight, cross-platform framework
http://vaporjs.com/ is way better, and was here first.
csaba··on Everybody Hates Firefox Updates
I mostly use windows 8 now, and firefox there simply does not works! Maybe it is only on my machine, I don't know, and I don't really care anymore. I really wanted to test the new non-memory eating firefox, but if tabs are disappearing, and flickering in a weird way (some random image appears instead of the tabs), than I can't use it.
csaba··on Ask HN: PHP coders, what's preventing you from changing language?
For me the biggest challenge is that at the company that I work for is too strict in trying out "unknown" technologies. So I can only learn in my free time. I don't really have any real project ideas in which I can try out my knowledge, so I forget the most of what I learned a few weeks ago. I think it's hard to change, when your job ties you to php. And in my country (Hungary) anything other than php, or java for web development is pretty unknown.
csaba··on Ask HN: PHP coders, what's preventing you from changing language?
Try this: http://ruby.railstutorial.org/ (there is a free online book version). I think this is quite good for start. At least it was for me.
csaba··on Want good programmers? Then pay them.
Try to work as webdev in Hungary (mostly php, rails and other mainstream languages are not really used). I know a place where you could get about $1200. But that's the rare case. For a freshman $400 is the max, if you're not lucky enough to born in Budapest. I deeply consider moving somewhere abroad, because here I don't feel I can be as good as I want to be...
