Ruby/Rails/React: I've been working full time with Ruby on Rails for more than 12 years and consequently can provide significant value to teams struggling to scale or maintain their Rails apps. I'm adept at the full stack and have recent experience with React and React Native.

My side project, StatusGator, monitors something like 250 status pages and there's quite a spike in warn or down notices at the moment that I can see.
I really like the idea of them but I just wish there was just some better security model. What if granting read access to Gmail could give you an auditable log of every email read through the API? That way, services like this could prove that they are being responsible with their access rights.
Ruby and Rails: More than 12 years experience with both.
But I worry that many new to the industry are selling themselves short with an "or" and not realizing that an "and" is possible.
At this point I feel like anyone who chooses stock options over cash is naive, delusional, or misled.
But the problem I always have with selling side projects is that they are worth a lot more to me in emotional value than they are actually worth monetarily. I've put a lot of heart and soul into StatusGator, not to mention a lot of time, and selling it for what it's worth based on monthly revenue ($1k/month) wouldn't nearly cover that emotional value. And so I hang on to it.
I always spend WAY too long picking out hotel rooms when I travel because it's so hard to compare hotels. The prices you see in search results are always for the cheapest room which I typically never want. And there's no way to see prices or sort by room size or amenities.
