Living in Seattle with a similar always green weather. It was quite scary when we had our big heatwave last year and a lot of the plants around my house died even if I watered them.
I just have never had this as a problem having worked on many APIs at many companies. Usually we decide what we want to work on and the frontend/full stack can read the documentation / chat with the backend engineers if it’s not clear. At no point is “discoverability” a issue
I watched that multiple times after delivering a big feature I had to crunch on late last year. Of course my reward was a”meets expectations “ modest raise.
Even that is assuming the public transit has enough capacity and safety. I remember the Seattle E-line before the pandemic for example. Packed in like sardines so you have to stand and maybe be able to hold on to something. Almost always someone at least yelling incoherently or starting a fight with an unlucky passenger. It was certainly not a relaxing reading nook. Not to mention having to often wait for 2 or more buses to fit inside at all.
In many EU countries public transit is excellent even in the suburbs/exurbs. But it’s an order of magnitude difference in funding that I don’t see the US really ever doing.
It was a traveling dream. You could do necessary PC things on it if you really needed to but it was painfully slow so you wouldn’t just spend time playing with it. It was absolutely tiny for it’s time so it fit in my backpack easily. It was a cheap piece of crap so I didn’t feel bad throwing it in my pack with dirty clothes and who knows what else and not have to worry about my $1200 business laptop. There really wasn’t anything like it at the time. It was a big hit from what I remember
Very happy with the Escape. I thought I’d miss the 4WD but honestly the one time I drive to the mountains or something is usually in May-September and FWD is perfectly fine for that in the PNW. The 40 mile range is amazing for a mild climate commute and driving around the city. I still haven’t added any gas and I’ve had it for 6 months. I considered the Prime but I cared much more about the price and getting one this year
I don’t see why it couldn’t - but the end result might be incoherent to humans. It could easily combine or extrapolate on random things to create “art”
Many SEA countries are effectively third world. It’s no wonder they have to go to Thailand for western-ish level medical care. The locals will not have the option at all so it’s not really a fair comparison
I can’t imagine the book and minor TV appearances circuit pays as well as Google. Unless you mean he’s doing it to be a minor annoying “celebrity” for a few minutes
I was shocked to see that most of the “web3” “games/worlds” that are hyped and have a billion dollar valuation have a daily active user count around 1000. Completely abysmal and any sane studio would kill off such a title immediately as a complete embarrassment
It’s not really a efficient heat sink since it’s just a big slab with no fins to actually cool itself down. Now it’ll heat up the whole chassis and then stay hot. It also doesn’t look like the metal piece on top of the CPU is seriously connected to the chassis (like with direct contact and thermal paste)
I enjoy a good Americano but I just buy the same beans that I’ve found to make a good cup for years and I can make a delicious and easy cup faster than a drip in the morning. It doesn’t have to be obnoxious or difficult.
I also do enjoy diner coffee as long as it’s somewhat fresh and not been sitting on the hot plate for hours
Classic social media reality skew . Most kids have a crappy laptop or maybe a base console. Maybe a few rich kids have a gaming room. In general those are for the 30-40 year olds who now have the disposable income to splurge on their hobby
My anxiety was “manageable” for most of my life but this year it boiled over. I would get something like panic attacks multiple times a day with a racing heart and was constantly distracted by catastrophic thinking the whole day so I knew I couldn’t manage basic life by myself anymore. I’ve been quite happy with SSRIs but I wouldn’t mind going off them once my life and the world settles down.
Basically I felt like I didn’t have the mental energy to fight with just active methods like meditation and needed some passive baseline help from medication
20mg is a high starting dose.
I’m on 10mg for anxiety (and maybe depression) and it has worked very well. The first few weeks were fairly physically bad but since then I have noticed minimal side effects. It sounds like you are a “zombie” right now. I haven’t noticed any mental decline and my motivation is much better since Im not stuck in anxiety loops. I’ve gone back to the gym, use less recreational drugs and get more done (important as a dad) since going on them.
