coconutrandom··on The worst things startups do
We prefer, 'enthusiasts'.
coconutrandom··on Open source cloud computing technologies
Check out Eucalyptus [open.eucalyptus.com/] It's compatible with amazon's EC2 and S3. The guide walked me through it. There was a hiccup but the forum helped me out in no time.
coconutrandom··on The Harried Leisure Class
Yeah me too! I cannot really relax reading or a watching a movie till I have done something monotonous, which usually turns out to be mopping or sweeping.
coconutrandom··on Ask HN: Which idea irritates you because it has not been taken far enough?
it seams you want someone to create a language that you could use to create itself. where it could be modified on the fly. where the syntax used to describe data would also be interchangeable with the syntax of the code.

coconutrandom··on Ask HN: What artists do you like?
I agree.

Fafi! is the best!! [http://www.fafi.net/images/images.html]

Miss Van is a huge inspiration to me as well. [http://images.google.com/images?q=miss+van]

coconutrandom··on Grains of Sand Reveal Possible Fifth State of Matter
Does this happen in a vacuum?
coconutrandom··on "SuperFoam" block collapses into chair under weight
I seriously wish HN could handle the humour. Sure, eventually we would degrade from an intelligent discussion to being knee deep in lolcatz and welcoming overlords.

That said, your comment brought needed mirth to my morning.

coconutrandom··on The Chinese Internet: Why the “Copy Cats” Win
That was a really good article

Put another way: Sure the Chinese can learn a
thing or two about original Web ideas from the
Valley, but the Web 2.0 generation can learn a
  lot about monetization from China.
and it goes to explain with an example with a Chinese version of match.com
coconutrandom··on World of Goo Pay-What-You-Want Sale Results
"For all purchases of around 30 cents and under, we actually saw no money, PayPal took it all, but they probably ended up losing money on most of those transactions ($0.01) as well, they’re not the bad guy."
coconutrandom··on Why hasn't Vista sold well?
Yea, same here until I did this:

coconutrandom··on Life returns to an eerie Chernobyl
I was looking up more about the current state of Chernobyl and this came up.

coconutrandom··on Logicomix - Cal prof Papadimitriou's comic book about Bertrand Russell and logic
This is a great book! I just started my mom on it!
coconutrandom··on If You're So Smart, How Come You're Not Rich? [Hennessy in Video]
title has nothing to do with video.
coconutrandom··on You're the Smartest Guy In The Room ... but please, try to restrain yourself.
He COULD care less. But instead he cared just enough to go on for several paragraphs.

I could care less that this irks you (but I care enough to hit reply).

coconutrandom··on Microsoft's Windows 7 Launch 'Party': Pass the Cringe
No thanks, but an Ubuntu Rave would be sweet!
coconutrandom··on OAP unicycle unveiled in Japan
Heck, I'm not even there yet, and _I_ want one...
coconutrandom··on Google Has A Solution For Internet Explorer: Turn It Into Chrome
If your job has your system locked down that much, most likely they don't want you to be surfing the web, wave, or whatever.
coconutrandom··on Ask HN: About all this Lisp fuzz
Wow. That's exactly me.

I'm a self taught(obsessed?) programmer, barely finished high school, quit collage the first month. And I just started with Arc Lisp. It feels so right and has improved my programming in other aspects. The good thing is that now I'm in nerdvana doing what I love for a small but cool company.

coconutrandom··on Google introduces "Fast Flip"
I think the parent post was sarcasm.
coconutrandom··on Daytum: beautifully-designed site for tracking personal statistics
It looks nicely laid out. But I cannot read it. Perhaps a slightly darker shade of grey could help with the contrast.
coconutrandom··on Twisted.web vs Tornado, a Performance test
ironically an article about web server performance just got hosed by HN.

coconutrandom··on [dead]
[shamed] That's what I get for posting hungry. Anyway, yes, this is a call for ideas, and solutions.

I've corrected the misspelling (with a link) on the site and added clarification.

coconutrandom··on I-Swarm Micro Robots are Up and Running
a magnet under the table.

^_^ kidding

coconutrandom··on The unspoken truth about managing geeks
And this is not bad in itself. It's only a negative thing if you have the responsibility to "make it happen", without the authority to make the proper decisions, or under arbitrary restrictions that hobble the making of happening.
coconutrandom··on Melanin/Hair Based DIY Solar Panels
The photos show mere strands of hair connected together in what looks to be a grid. Really?!!

Crank, until verified.

coconutrandom··on [dead]
Is he serious? I don't but it's a funny read.
