cmykgrayscale··on Sass Ruby's Clever CSS
If you are using sass, you might as well use http://compass-style.org/ Awesome piece of software that brings together sass/scss and css frameworks (blueprint, 960). It also has a built-in list of commonly used mixins.

Another simple yet efficient cli todo is todo.txt http://ginatrapani.github.com/todo.txt-cli/

and for all vim users out there, I would highly recommend http://code.google.com/p/vimwiki/ which is a portable wiki right inside vim.

cmykgrayscale··on Show HN: Djangy, Heroku for Django - anyone use this?
I've been on their invite list for a few months now. Cant wait to get my hands on it.
cmykgrayscale··on Ask HN: How do you visualize code in your head?
I don't usually see code, but I see the architecture in flowcharts. For the parts which I've not completely worked out, the chart just fades to an ominous fog.
cmykgrayscale··on YC applicants:how far along are you in your biz?
I think one should work on ideas which they are more passionate about than worrying about monetization. Hard work will pay itself.
cmykgrayscale··on What's the most mind-blowing fact you heard/read in your life?
entangled particles and quantum mechanics in general. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lOWZ0Wv218
cmykgrayscale··on Ultimate CSS Gradient Generator
what would be nice is if this generator also created compass code.
cmykgrayscale··on Ask HN: Review my app / startup: Yobiz
great landing page. video is very well done. I think there might be a small css bug, the "Join us on facebook" link is on a new line http://i.imgur.com/MG6Y7.png edit: i'm on chrome (mac)
cmykgrayscale··on Ask HN: What do you do to relax?
Strangely, I like to code to relax. When I get stressed out working on something, I just switch to working on something more fun.
cmykgrayscale··on Ask HN: when is Google Instant coming to my GMail search?
came here to post that. been using it for a few weeks now on my mac. very satisfied.
cmykgrayscale··on E text editor version 2 released
I'm an avid textmate user on my macbook. So, I decided to give e a shot on my desktop a few months ago. Initially I thought it was pretty cool that i could use all my bundles. but as I used it more I realized that there were too many quirks and missing features (like when you select a word it highlights all occurrences, auto brace completion, split view, etc)

I switched back to notepad++.

cmykgrayscale··on Ask HN: PHP or Ruby on Rails
I would suggest Ruby. I found php easier to learn, but it was so easy to write bad code in it. Ruby on the other hand forces you to follow solid design patterns.

Also on a side note, ROR is a framework for Ruby, so you cant compare it with PHP. There are some really good PHP frameworks out there too (Symfony, CakePHP, Codeigniter) but they essentially try to imitate ROR and bring those design paradigms to php.

cmykgrayscale··on You’re Just the Founder
very sad to read all these cases where the VCs despotize the founders. People with money always make the calls.

On an side note, is there a place where founders/developers discuss VCs and their experiences?
