The original article title is "DOGE canceled High Point Museum grant for HVAC systems after ChatGPT flagged it as DEI, lawsuit alleges" but I modified it so it could fit the character limit

Thanks to Jane for her contributions. Some great quotes from her: "We have a choice to use the gift of our lives to make the world a better place." and “If we kill off the wild, then we are killing a part of our souls.”

Fun stuff. Got a good laugh out of https://absurd.website/dday/game.php and https://absurd.website/microtasks-for-meatbags/ . Thanks!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F61YWNapxJg is a cool demo of this. I'm curious how well this repl assistant approach will work with larger codebases
cldwalker··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (February 2025)
Using ollama's structured output, I can dynamically build queries using the https://schema.org ontology. This allows for pretty data-rich queries and importing those results into personal knowledge management apps like Logseq. https://www.loom.com/share/bd98db65474f4e828bd4db65d556159c is a demo of what works and https://github.com/logseq/nbb-logseq/tree/feat/db/examples/o... is the code

> I like just popping "TODO" on the front of a line

Tasks can be created with `/todo` and additional ways - https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/feat/db/db-version.md#cr...

> I don't want to have a drop-down list pop up with distracting icons

The Status property is customizable - https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/feat/db/db-version.md#cu.... If you don't like the icons, you can delete them from a property's Available Choices - https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/feat/db/db-version.md#pr...

> I don't want tags on the ends of my lines

Then press `Cmd-Enter` as the ui tells you todo and as documented in https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/feat/db/db-version.md#cr.... Tags entered that way display as before

> I like having the status right at the front, not singled out as just one more property

It is in the front and the position of a property is configurable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

> I'm one of those people for whom Notion is counterintuitive to the point of being completely unusable

Most of the existing workflows remain the same and the DB version opens up many more workflows. Would recommend trying it out if you haven't already with https://test.logseq.com/ and https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/feat/db/db-version.md. If you have tried it out, please give us feedback :)

cldwalker··on Show HN: A terminal tool for Logseq journal entries
When Logseq is running locally, you can use its [local http server](https://docs.logseq.com/#/page/local%20http%20server) to do this. https://github.com/logseq/nbb-logseq is useful for automations and is already used to create github actions e.g. https://github.com/logseq/publish-spa. In the upcoming database version, nbb-logseq is able to read and write Logseq graphs completely independent of the app - https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/feat/db/db-version.md#sc...

cldwalker··on Ask HN: What happened to Pinboard?
Helpful to know I am not the only experiencing archiving pains. Most of my bookmarks didn't archive for over a month. About a 1/3 of my archived pages currently result in an internal "Forbidden" error. My support experience since end of October has been no response after sending to 2 email messages and a private twitter message. The rest of the site is so damn useful compared to its competitors that I'm willing to overlook this lack of professionalism. Currently the promises of support on https://pinboard.in/tour/ are misleading: "If you have an idea, or need help, you can bring it up directly with me and be sure of a prompt response." I hope he returns and gives the site some love.
