We both have access to Wikipedia, right? Or is all that Fake News too?
This is a mode of existence available to only the extremely privileged. It's a great luxury to be this picky about what you eat.
"Thanks for the ransom money. Oh, sure, yeah, I deleted everything. I hit the big "Delete" button and everything. Don't worry about it."
I'm saying that they're parroting CCP propaganda in the form of an extremely questionable survey and that generally attracts downvotes here (including mine).
Is it possible that I believe in those things and find Trump repulsive? Look through my comments and tell me if you think I "love Trump". Another swing and miss at ad hominem instead of a legitimate argument.
> We can disagree on this issue, but don't tell me I'm "entitled" for saying that from a moral perspective, the concept of restricting one's international movement based on their nationality is ridiculous, especially if they don't actually live in their home country anymore.
I think it's entitlement to believe you are owed access to another person's homeland for no reason other than the fact that you're a person. By what right are you entitled to live in and enjoy the benefits of a country and society that someone else has built?
In my opinion you have no natural right to this whatsoever.
>[...] we can get rid of this border/via/passport nonsense.
Thankfully this will never happen. You can bet the farm on it.
Complete strawman, since you don't have an actual leg to stand on in defending this administration. Never did I say (nor would I) that Trump's "bad manners" had any affect.
> How ironic that you're calling me entitled, and then in the same breath you tell me that my freedom of movement must abide by your personal opinions regarding freedom.
If not letting certain people into my country, to use my resources, is telling you that you must abide by my "personal opinions regarding freedom", then guilty as charged. Until we receive passport protocols from on high, that's what we're stuck with.
It's incredibly entitled to say "gee I feel like living in _____, they must let me do as I please." It's not entitled to say "lol no."
Is the Department of State better or worse off than it was 4 years ago? Is US soft power stronger or weaker than it was 4 years ago?
The answer to all of these is pretty obvious, damning, and moving in the same direction.
It's tradition at this point.
What an absurd sense of entitlement. You're not entitled to travel anywhere on earth despite your utopian dreams.
I'm still of the opinion that you chose personal gain over doing what you knew to be the right thing. It's something everyone (me included) does many times over. But the scale of wrongdoing by Facebook is exceptional.
Equally as possible is that our intuitions about "the right thing" are wildly different. I think that democracy, societal cohesion, and personal privacy are important and that Facebook has permanently damaged all three.
Which do you think it is?
Yes, that's why it's bad.
I don't think occupying a lot of land or joining the army at a higher rate entitles rural voters to more power than anyone else. If we're going down the route of determining whose vote should count for more, those two qualities seem to be near the bottom of the list.
Good point. No reason voting in CA, NY, or other states since your vote is basically meaningless.
> Similarly in rural for an R?
Same as above.
Maybe the electoral college isn't really that democratic if millions more people end up voting for the "loser" of an election.
$ > Ethics
Is it wrong to be skeptical of these millionaire developers who ride off into the sunset to retire but leave a final "oh btw, lots of problematic stuff at my former employer" message?
>The scientific objectives for the Hope Mars Mission, as agreed upon by the global Mars science community, are aimed at providing a complete picture of the Martian atmosphere. The probe will study the climate daily and through seasonal cycles, the weather events in the lower atmosphere such as dust storms, as well as the weather at different geographic areas of Mars. According to the Hope Mars Mission team, the probe will be the "first true weather satellite" at Mars.[25]
>The Hope probe will also study the atmospheric layers of Mars in detail and will provide data to study: the reason for a drastic climatic change in the Martian atmosphere from the time it could sustain liquid water to today, when the atmosphere is so thin that water can only exist as ice or vapour, to help understand how and why Mars is losing its hydrogen and oxygen into space, and the connection between the upper and lower levels of the Martian atmosphere.[25] Data from the Hope probe will also help to model the Earth's atmosphere and study its evolution over millions of years.[20] All data gained from the mission will be made available to 200 universities and research institutes across the globe for the purpose of knowledge sharing.[20]

Also, having "police" on their uniforms is meaningless. If you want to know where they disappeared someone to, are you going to look up "police" in the phone book and give them a call? Give me a break.
Do you think they have no levers to pull to affect policy from a federal level other than physically forcing people to do things? I'm not really sure what your point is.
The answer to this for me depends on what the election in November holds.
Making a mistake once and having to live with it for 4 years is manageable. Institutions can recover. But another 4 years of this is would be an unmitigated disaster for the republic.
>Former game show host Chuck Woolery announced Wednesday his son has tested positive for COVID-19, just days after Woolery accused medical professionals and Democrats of lying about the virus in an effort to hurt the economy and President Trump's reelection chances.
>Woolery, who hosted several popular game shows including "Love Connection" and "Wheel of Fortune" and who is a staunch supporter of the president's, has since deleted his Twitter account following the announcement about his son.
>"To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones," Woolery tweeted before his account disappeared.

Another one from today:
>An Ohio man who died due to complications from COVID-19 has drawn criticism for his staunch refusal to wear a mask earlier in the pandemic.
>Richard Rose III, an Army veteran who spent nine years in the United States Army according to his obituary, died on July 4. He was 37.
>Rose’s death gained notoriety on social media after expressing that he was “not buying a (expletive) mask” less than three months before his death.
>“I’ve made it this far by not buying into that damn hype,” he said in a post published April 28.

It's possible that GP was referring to the current federal government in general re: Covid-19, not specifically their jurisdiction over education. And in that sense they're correct: the current leadership in the US is a disaster and "worse than useless".
Using NewPipe is just crossing your fingers and hoping they never decide to make use of those two pieces of information.
But at the same time, these are well known public figures broadcasting openly racist and anti-Semitic thoughts to millions of people.
I'm not completely sure what to make of it.
>“When you have a person that has the lack of pigment, the lack of melanin, they know that they will be annihilated,” Mr. Cannon said during the June podcast. “So therefore, however they got the power, they have the lack of compassion — melanin comes with compassion, melanin comes with soul. We call it soul — we’re soul brothers and sisters — that’s the melanin that connects us, so the people that don’t have [melanin] are a little, and I’m going to say this carefully, are a little less.”
>“They’re acting out of fear, they’re acting out of low self-esteem, they’re acting out of a deficiency,” he continued. “So therefore, the only way that they can act is evil. They have to rob, steal, rape, kill in order to survive. So then, these people who didn’t have what we have — and when I say we, I speak of the melanated people — they had to be savages. They had to be barbaric because they’re in these Nordic mountains. They’re in these rough environments. They’re acting as animals, so they’re the ones that are actually closer to animals. They’re the ones that are actually the true savages.”

If you want to do this accounting, I'm really here for you.
