chillax··on Zero-emission autonomous ship planned to start in 2018
According to this article (norwegian): https://www.tu.no/artikler/verdens-forste-autonome-skip-i-dr... a contract should be signed this year. Delivery Q3 2018 and testing with onboard crew. Remote control from Brevik (port authority) in 2019 and fully autonomous operations from 2020. So yes, vaporware at this point, but with Kongsberg as a partner I think this will be built - for more see: https://www.km.kongsberg.com/ks/web/nokbg0240.nsf/AllWeb/597...

chillax··on Five startups from Norway
In a normal company (as in not a startup) you'll work 8 to 16 year round and have at least 5 weeks of vacation, most of them usually to be spent during the common vacation time (Fellesferien) which is in july.

If you're lucky you can expect at a good chunk of extra days days of in may when we celebrate different christian days and of course constitution day on the 17th.

Oh, and at easter you'll have 3 days of. Most people (at least families) take the whole easter week of. Working in the government you'll often find a concept of summer time, where you work from 8 to 15 from around may to sometime in august. Those hours are to be worked extra during the rest of the year though.

This is the traditional movie shown before noon here in Norway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C5%99i_o%C5%99%C3%AD%C5%A1ky_... (voices are dubbed to Norwegian). I think it has been shown every christmas eve since the 70s.
chillax··on HockeyApp Joins Microsoft
From: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/somasegar/archive/2014/12/08/microso...

"We will integrate HockeyApp into the Application Insights service in Visual Studio Online to expand Application Insights support for iOS and Android." Seems to me they're positioning themselves for more cross platform development.

chillax··on American scientists unearth lost 1960s polar satellite images
Linkbait title.

chillax··on Woman’s cancer killed by measles virus in trial
Seems so?

"Within the next several years, it is likely the technique will become a standardized treatment for cancers such as myeloma or pancreatic cancer, Tanios Bekaii-Saab, a researcher at James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Ohio, told the Star Tribune. Still, the study must be confirmed in large randomized clinical trials. “Unless we get to the third stage of development, we are cautiously optimistic,” he said."

chillax··on We Aren’t the World (2013)
Probably due to the narrow focus:

"Recent comparative work has dramatically altered this initial picture. Two unified projects (which we call Phase 1 and Phase 2) have deployed the Ultimatum Game and other related experimental tools across thousands of sub- jects randomly sampled from 23 small-scale human societies, including foragers, horticulturalists, pastoralists, and subsistence farmers, drawn from Africa, Amazonia, Oceania, Siberia, and New Guinea"

from: http://hci.ucsd.edu/102b/readings/WeirdestPeople.pdf

chillax··on We Aren’t the World (2013)
Wrt $ amount (from the article):

"The stakes Henrich used in the game with the Machiguenga were not insubstantial—roughly equivalent to the few days’ wages they sometimes earned from episodic work with logging or oil companies." - Probably far from $100.
