Basically my goal is to render all bus routes on a map. But unlike train routes, they overlap wayyy too much. Instead of limiting the space to X & Y, I thought why not go Z index (up).
Data from Land Transport Authority of Singapore. Map is powered by Mapbox GL JS.
It adds a faux `animation` keyframe for the specified CSS selector.
This is mainly inspired by Google's Render-tron https://render-tron.appspot.com/ but I added a PDF option and few more fancy features. This uses Puppeteer, also by Google https://github.com/GoogleChrome/puppeteer
Here are two demo videos:

Cheers
By popularity, do you mean the repos or the pokemon?
So as for your feedback:
1. I myself also wish that I could login, comment, etc. Unfortunately the official API doesn't allow it yet. Other HN apps implement those by scraping HN, save your username/password somewhere but I didn't choose this route because it might be a maintenance nightmare for me :(
2. Regarding the 'open new tab/window' preference for links, I've been thinking about this for a long time. Will experiment soon :)
3. Animations. I'll need time to implement those :P
Glad to know that you like my app! Cheers.
I just recently launched an iOS app https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hackerweb/id1084209377?mt=8 in conjunction of the web app. It's my first ever iOS app and is built with React Native.
I've also written a post on my journey in building the app: http://cheeaun.com/blog/2016/03/building-hackerweb-ios/
