the music barely at all.
I suspect the reason that excerpt sounds so bad is because the music has several instruments playing at once. One doesn't generally design a vocoder to deal with more than one voice. As that except plays, you can hear that the most prominent instruments (eg: the bass at several moments) sound pleasing, albeit speech-like.It would probably different from the original music, but pleasant, if one processed each track separately.
"There is more work to do" is the understatement of the year. Why would it be a problem that he has
a personality disorder?
On reflection, it wasn't constructive for me to sound off about his mental health. It's none of my business. If my original comment were still editable, I'd delete it. why do you find it cringe worthy?
It's cringe-worthy the way someone who barks "do you not know who I am?" at a McDonalds employee is cringe-worthy. It's the grandiosity and lack of self-awareness. he's aware of it.
He comes off like someone who suffered abuse and mockery as a child. Was he aware he sounded like that? I doubt it.That said, a behavior can be both cringe-worthy, and also productive. I can think of certain comedians, talk-show hosts, etc, who manage both.
I'm a bastard. I have absolutely no clue why people
can ever think otherwise. Yet they do. People think I'm
a nice guy, and the fact is that I'm a scheming, conniving
bastard who doesn't care for ...
On the surface, the message is "Isn't it impressive how dominant I am?" but the unintended message is "I have a personality disorder!" to prevent people watching or reading
or thinking or smelling things we do not like
If a person ever finds himself supporting the distribution of a snuff film, that person might do some introspection and ask how he got to that point. Because that view is straight out of A Clockwork Orange. Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg reportedly spoke
with President Trump earlier Tuesday,
urging him not to ground the jet.
Great priorities there, Dennis! /s Ask HN: What do you think about internet echo chambers?
This makes me sound like a knee-jerk contrarian, but I think the majority opinion is wrong. Echo chambers are good! When you have too wide a chasm between points of view, you spend all your time bickering about surface issues. But if you speak to people who already agree with you on first principles, you can have a deeper discussion. For example, a doctor and homeopath are less likely to have a productive discussion about health issues, than two doctors, or two homeopaths. A doctor and homeopath are just going to argue over whose profession is the worthless one.
is HN an internet echo chamber
Sure, moreso than most other sites, in that people on HN are better educated (and therefore more liberal) than the average social network. But I'd prefer it if the opinions were still less diverse. and how do you tell?
Since I seldom see users threaten each other with physical violence here, I assume it's more of an echo chamber than most other websites. Who defines the terms "Nazis" and "terrorists"
By your logic, Youtube would have to host child pornography, because "how do you define child pornography?"These terms are whatever the moderator says they are. If their definition does not match up with mine, I complain. If it does match, I don't.
Whatever they don't want on their platform beyond that is their business. If they don't like videos of baby sea lions, well, I'd have to find my baby sea lion videos elsewhere.
What Youtube has done to the world is a problem that is only going to get worse as more of Youtube's viewership reaches adulthood.
I don't think it does a society much good to have Mr Heated-gaming-moment as a role model for half a million ten year olds. The world has seen plenty of unrest lately, but things can become so much worse, as kids for whom this is the "new normal" grow up.
Doing nothing doesn't seem right, but it may
very well be the best choice from an ethical
perspective
I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see a good argument for holding your tongue. If your competitor is illegally taking credit for someone else's work, that's their own fault. I would at least notify the original authors.
