champagnepapi··on Ask HN: Software for producing terminal-based tutorials?
hmmm can't you screen record using Quicktime? Although, if this is for a lecture, you might have to overlay a layer of audio on top. But i'm not 100% sure about this, best of luck.
champagnepapi··on Calculus Made Easy (1914) [pdf]

champagnepapi··on Robinhood Is Down Again?
yes it is unfortunately
champagnepapi··on Robinhood reports outage as markets rebound
I was getting ready to buy a bunch of calls this morning via Robinhood. I hit the "submit" button on the trade, and nothing happened. VERY disappointing experience. When it comes to applications like this, downtime is critical. Haven't been able to place a trade all day.
champagnepapi··on Collection of Software Bugs
I'd sure hate to be the guy who lost $460M lol "Knight Capital Group realized a $460 million loss in 45-minutes."
champagnepapi··on Ohio bill would allow students to be scientifically wrong due to religion
LOL Wonder what the long-term (10-20years) impacts of this will be? Will college's be less willing to accept students from Ohio? Perhaps resulting in more harsh economic conditions that result in bills like this and others passing in the first place. As well as a negative economic loop.
champagnepapi··on Ask HN: Do you write tests before the implementation?
I mean I would "like" too, however, working in a startup there are some limitations. Our primary focus is building software that will improve metrics for our business, often time that software will only last a few months or so. As a result, it's just too costly for us to write tests for code that will only last a couple months most likely. Again, we would like to, and there are certainly some parts (small-parts) that have lasted for more than a few months and those don't have tests either, in that case, we "just never got around to it".

champagnepapi··on WTF – A personal information dashboard for your terminal
This is super cool! Thanks!
champagnepapi··on Ask HN: How do you deal with professional envy?
hmm personally I haven't really felt this way since high school (I'm 26 right now working as a SWE in NYC). I think you're at a great point because you have the ability to turn that envy into something productive. Perhaps it's learning a new skill that you can apply on the job, that will get you paid more. Trying to invalidate someone is counter productive, because chances are it will not make you anymore successful/happy. Furthermore, it is taking away time from activities that will certainly make you successful and happy. So with that said, as the Nike commercials state, "Just Do It". Start something that you know will make you happy and successful in your path. When you get bored, tried, lazy, unmotivated of "just doing it" think about that envy, use it to continue forward. Make others want to be envious of you!
champagnepapi··on Ask HN: Is it possible to move to another country when over 40?
Anything is possible Are you willing to make it happen? But move to a country with good health-care system.

champagnepapi··on BuzzFeed employees demand it pay out earned PTO to all laid-off U.S. staffers
I wonder how companies that are located in states where employers are forced to payout unused days at the end of the year, deal with the idea of "unlimited"? How can they payout that out, but legally they are suppose to? I mostly feel like it (unlimited vacation) is a way for companies to save money.

champagnepapi··on Ask HN: How do you keep track of the articles you want to read?
Slack, just send a link to myself. If you are running MacOS, then you could use the Notes App. It works great, sync's content between devices, and you can password protect notes as well.
