cannedslime··on YouTube suspends and demonetizes One America News Network over Covid-19 video
The way the site is shaped right now just leads to amplification of conformity. I don't even know how you even get downvote rights, and even if I had it I wouldn't use it as a tool in the debate out of principle. I guess some people just don't have principles worth two sacks of donkey dung.

And you don't think Libel and slander laws are sufficient? If someone says something obviously untruthful we already have the legal framework to deal with it.

This is just a private company taking control of information. Who is to say that they arent the ones spreading misinformation themselves?

> As for credit card processing services, generally Visa and Mastercard are enforcing policies of the banks that actually provide the credit;

Generally! I know at least one American comedian who is banned by both for taking jabs at you know who...

And no you just dont become a domain registrar like that. You need to be quite privileged to do that.

Also could you care to explain? I elaborated my viewpoint. Kind of lukewarm of you to avoid that.
cannedslime··on YouTube suspends and demonetizes One America News Network over Covid-19 video
Yes and when godaddy and visa pulls their services they are free to become their own domain registrar and credit card company as well!
cannedslime··on YouTube suspends and demonetizes One America News Network over Covid-19 video
Care to explain how its not? Let me preface this by saying that I have not seen the video, but even if they said that only the flying spaghetti monster can save you from ARDS, I'd rather live in a world with free exchange of information (even misinformation).

So what was the fake news? The ISBN for "Covid-19: The great reset"?
cannedslime··on A Weird Monolith Is Found in the Utah Desert
I really don't understand why all media outlets shill this story like it wasn't just a few riveted plates of sheet steel. A dozen people could carry the materials to build that thing by hand.
cannedslime··on Michael J Fox: ‘Every step now is a frigging math problem, so I take it slow’
Nonstick pans are a crazy invention. Heat it up too much and toxic vapors are emitted, vapors strong enough that its not uncommon for parakeets and other small birds to die in such a presence.
cannedslime··on Guidance to developers affected by effort to block less secure browsers, apps
They are not improving security, just making it more difficult to scrape google, who ironically is 100% based around scraping and living off other peoples content and creations in general.
cannedslime··on Guidance to developers affected by effort to block less secure browsers, apps
"less secure" more like you are not allowed to scrape the almighty scraper. What pathetic double standards.
cannedslime··on YouTube adds ads but won't pay all content-makers
I didnt consider anything, I just searched for ad blocker first thing this morning and took what seemed like the popular choice. I'll try uBlock now, what is the difference in regards to user experience?
cannedslime··on YouTube adds ads but won't pay all content-makers
Funny, today I woke up and first thing install ABP for the first time in my life, because google will not let me fall asleep to soothing documentaries without obnoxious ads rolling every two minutes because their algos figured out im not there to skip them.

Then I see this and im just even more confident in that decision.

cannedslime··on Google to end the “top stories carousel” benefit to AMP next spring
The whole notion that you must use AMP to serve static text faster is hysterical.
cannedslime··on Electron 11.0 released with support for Apple Silicon
You don't think its strange that facebook hired PHP programmers to create the product and then have to hire competent people to fix that shit as far removed from company logic as possible?

Doesn't it kinda make you think, just a little?

cannedslime··on Electron 11.0 released with support for Apple Silicon
Well, you will never get around being forced to use something in your workplace. I would never use Cisco VPNs but I had to install their shitty client in every workplace I ever been on.
cannedslime··on Electron 11.0 released with support for Apple Silicon
Yes. I am not even joking. Facebook was so terrible that they had to literally reinvent their wheels (hiphop). Its not hard to become a large company when you have black budget backing as confirmed by Snowden.
cannedslime··on Electron 11.0 released with support for Apple Silicon
Its your choice to use others "crapware". The price it comes with is all the abuse "noobs" have to take for offering their solutions for free. You don't like HTML frontends, thats sweet, then make your own alternative with Qt or winforms.

There is NO "mandatory" electron apps... But there is some great software made with electron that has become very popular.

I am confident if something has been made with electron, there is native alternatives out there. Don't like slack? Then use IRC.

Don't like my joystick to keyboard/mouse remapper with an electron frontend? Then don't, use one of the many alternatives (Too bad if they don't provide what you are looking for and no one of them seems to be able to modulate output in order to emulate analog controls. But at least it was written by a pro!)

Slack is a messy one page app developed by PHP programmers and vscode is open source and actually made by competent people.
cannedslime··on ‘Extremely aggressive’ internet censorship spreads in the world’s democracies
I feel like if media didnt seem conglomerated and opinionated, none of this would ever have been an issue. The problem is that globally, media has become aligned in its objectives, languages etc. to the point where anyone with just a shred of critical thinking would at least be skeptical about the quality of truth from mass media.

This is partly because american NGOs have orchestrated a huge indoctrination effort among journalists on a global scale. I have worked for national media for a little under a decade and every place I worked, there was journalists participating in stuff from "open societies foundation".

The quality of journalism has reached such a low that when tourists are group raped for hours and then are finally decapitated by religious fanatics (Any other description would not be allowed in media anymore, but you know who) who film and put it on the internet. they use terms like "Found with injuries on their neck". And then our police and media do everything they can to stop the real horrific truth from surfacing. No wonder people stop believing a word and become overly skeptical.

Honestly I think its a sign of health that people become skeptical regarding mass media. It would be even healthier if the general populace started to dismantle the power structures that dictates our dystopian future.

cannedslime··on Why Isn't Susan Wojcicki Getting Grilled by Congress?
How is that any more bad faith than opposing the opposite? Its an honest observation.
cannedslime··on Why Isn't Susan Wojcicki Getting Grilled by Congress?
Yes its a social media and always has been. Its a site with 100% user generated content. Comment system and more. Historically it was even more social since it started out as a video dating site. Furthermore it had a video reply feature until very recently.

The Youtube comment section is one of the most heavily auto moderated platforms on the whole internet and its actually a very valid question why Youtube is not held liable for their dystopian AI powered censorship mechanisms.

cannedslime··on Why Isn't Susan Wojcicki Getting Grilled by Congress?
And should we just assume that all election outcomes are legitimate? Is all talk of election fraud fake news, or is it only applicable when your candidate seemingly won? Its mere months ago that everyone left to right was frothing at their mouth due to the election in Belarus...

I find it scary that sites like twitter dare to put a sticker on what they believe is fake or misleading, especially when we are talking hundreds of unique video clips and pictures showing obvious dubious actions by election officials, have a particular video been "debunked" ? Fine put on a note saying its false, but I find it dystopic that americans are fine with mega corps defining what truth is...

You have to be pretty blind not to at least think that there was some odd stuff going on in the US elections. The states have become a banana republic where the democrats have become dependent on ballot harvesting of the uneducated masses.

Two party system, every 4 years you must choose between the giant douché or the turd sandwich. The whole world is laughing at Americans and their interpretation of democracy.

cannedslime··on Body found in Canada identified as neo-nazi spam king
What is up with jews who become nazis? I remember some years ago there was this jewish kid that played both European nationalists and Australian Islamists. I think his name was Joshua Ryne Goldberg or something like that. He wrote for the dailystormer too... Tried to make both sides commit acts of terrorism.

He basically ran every controversial subreddit at the time under his nick "European88".

cannedslime··on Denmark to cull millions of minks over mutated coronavirus
I don't know who or why this was downvoted but. I told you so: https://ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/samfund/mutationsvirus-fra-m...

214 infected with the new strain already.

This is a win for pharma companies, who can now sell TWO PCR test runs for every citizen tested.

cannedslime··on Denmark to cull millions of minks over mutated coronavirus
No I didnt get tested, first of all historically you do not get PCR testing for the coof unless you die, thats a trend beginning with covid. Also because it wasn't even on the radar unless you were one of those types of persons who hung out on 4chans /pol/ where they had daily threads about the virus since december at least.

My point is that governments do NOT want to address the ARDS concerns because it will mean millions of citizens will have to get early pensions, which will be a massive strain on welfare states. They'd rather not address this at all. My other point is that we have reached a point where PCR testing is utterly meaningless, it SOLELY benefits big pharma.

It makes no sense to keep on doing PCR testing, we should have done like china when shtf there and started doing symptom diagnostics instead since its way cheaper.

Also, if you need a respirator to breathe, you need it COVID or not. If you are sick, it doesn't really matter if its SARS-2, covid-20 or the flu. Stay home!

cannedslime··on Denmark to cull millions of minks over mutated coronavirus
If you never look for them you will never find them. I was very sick in december and still have bad lungs because of it. Wether it was "COVID" or just multiple types of the flu hitting me relentlessly I don't know, but the short story is that you basically are not taken serious by doctors if you come up to them and say "My lungs feel really bad after that thing you said was simply the flu one year ago". And I live in Denmark, the exemplary of free medical health care...

Governments seem more keen on burning an uncountable amount of money on dubious PCR testing instead of treating or at least debunking any concerns of long term issues.

Its obvious that MY government really has no clue what they are doing. They have given themselves absolute power in this state of emergency, they make decisions and then announe them before other parties have a chance to say anything about the material handed to them. First our government sold The state serum institute to a rediculous low price to some sheikh from Saudi Arabia, and now they pay BILLIONS every month to that very same company and take all the advice they give as unconditional fact.

But fact is they are a private company with a stake in government funded PCR testing.

cannedslime··on Denmark to cull millions of minks over mutated coronavirus
We simply do not know right now. I think ARDS and the risk of permanent lung damage is one of the main reasons that we named this SARS pandemic "COVID".

For the previous SARS pandemic I believe it was about half of every infected person who developed long term respiratory problems. This strain shares around 80% of its genome with the previous SARS-1 strain.
